Note: Ubisoft brought this back from delistment, at a price... all the original licensed songs in the base game were stripped out and replaced with selected DLC they still have rights to.

Owners of the original before it delisted still have the game with all the old licensed songs.

They're doing this because they're probably desperate and need to make some more revenue somehow.
I'm curious if I can buy this and get the DLC. For just $3 that's cheaper than the DLC by themselves would cost, I imagine.

It was a cool concept when it came out, I was married with kids when I got it so I just didn't prioritize playing. Nor was it a great workspace at my computer. Also the cheap guitar I had registered the wrong string when strummed. I bought a new guitar last year but it pretty much sat there.I really should give this game a shot again, it actually was helpful.

Be aware that the DRM will not allow you to use your own Guitar to USB adapter.

You can only use your own adapter if you download a cracked version.
You can also just use a microphone, I hear that works really well. I go the cable with rocksmith for PS3 a very long time ago and still use that.

they remastered this as a monthly subscription service called "RockSmith+" and it absolutely bombed. it was fine, just nobody was interested in a monthly subscription service
I really hope they take everything in Rocksmith+ and just make a version I can buy. I don't mind dropping $20-$30 if it's good, I just can't commit to any subscription service as I don't know how much I'll use it.

Just buy/download Cherub Rock...
So, there is something related to this particular dlc track, right?
Like having this track is able to open up more songs to play in the game, or something like that?
I have an off-tangent question, for anybody who knows all the aspect of Steam. Many years ago there was this sale for DLC tracks for Rocksmith in which they were discounted, but only if you purchased them to gift. I bought several tracks, but I never lifted them.
I presume I still have these gifts. It's been almost 10 years, probably. Am I able to have these gifts reverted back to my account? If so, what menu options would I got into. And where can I view my purchase gift items?

Are you sure a microphone will work? That's effectively what the guitar to USB adapters are.

Ubi locked this down with DRM to force you to purchase their dongle.

If you are at all on the fence, just get this. If you dig deep enough (CS.RIN.RU), you can grab all the DLC including delisted. If you head over to CustomsForge, you can have all your non-piracy questions answered, and download about 50,000 custom DLC songs (!!!) that others like you have made, and even learn how to make your own. Note that about 35,000 of those customs are terrible, but that leaves a lot for bass and or guitar.

Rocksmith+ was ignored by 99% of the huge Rocksmith 2014 Remastered fans because we did not want a shitty subscription model or be limited in any way as to what songs we could add ourselves. Rocksmith+ will never be fixed as the licensing cannot be changed now. Ubisoft ruined the franchise with one very dumb move. But RS2014 Remastered is a great today as it was when it was released and just about every rock and metal song you'd want to play is available if you know where to look.

$3 for a ticket to all that is the bargain of the year. And do go get the Rocksmith cable. It makes a decent USB interface for recording your guitar into your daw (I've used it for a decade in that way). It's worth the price.

They changed the exe file, so mods and custom dlc are not working on this version (at least as of yet)

Oh shoot, hopefully that's not true for those that have the original version.

The songs I downloaded aren't even ones they sell.

My only frustration with a lot of the custom songs I tried is they don't scale well. For a low level like me it was still pumping out a couple notes a second.
Also, someone else here said that the cherub rock mod doesn't work anymore. This is inspiring me to get out my guitar and try the old one out again.

I'm not sure if Steam is updating everyone to this new version, but if so...it could be a problem from CDLC until they find a new workaround.

what is CDLC again? I don't think they are upgrading everyone to this new version because I still get the option to purchase. I think it's just anyone who purchases at this point. I hope.

CDLC = custom DLC. In other words; all of the songs that you've downloaded that they don't sell.

If you purchased something as a gift you should get a gift code. It should be in your purhcase history. but that was a while ago, I can't say if it would be there.

As far as the track, someone else said it doesn't work with this new version, but yeah, with the original 2014 version they needed to trick rocksmith by using an identification number of an existing DLC so it thinks it is an approved DLC. They chose Cherub Rock because it was a giveaway at one time so a bunch of people already owned it.

It's how you can use fully acoustic guitars. I can't speak for the latency of them though. I would imagine there is quite a delay and you may need to use headphones so there isn't other interference.

I never used Cherob Rock. There was an easier way. You can find the current method at CustomsForge or on the Rocksmith /sub over at Reddit. And yes, it is frustrating when you download a custom DLC and find that the person who made it wasn't competent. They are free, but hit or miss. I've been at this for a decade, so I have 4000 or song customs that I know are good.
