Some other caveats to be aware of: no HDR, 60 Hz, no VRR, slow response time, mediocre constrast/black uniformity

Got one when it was this price back in November. It's a great monitor for photo/video-editing/graphic design and will work right outa the box with Macs. Type never looked so good. If that's the kind of work you do ignore those who just like to dump on it because they don't understand how good it is for those tasks.(and I've had lots of monitors over the years). Get one.

None of that matters in this instance. These are for professional photography editing, graphic design, video. And the contrast, sharpness are superb.

Many photo/video editors will care about those aspects, especially lack of HDR and the mediocre contrast/black uniformity. I'm not saying it's a bad monitor, I'm just saying it has some drawbacks to be aware of.

None of that matters for professional photography editing, graphic design, video? That's laughable. Sharpness? It's an LCD. Sharpness is not an issue.

This is just Apple doing a screwjob on its fans. There are superior monitors for all these professional tasks. The only advantage Apple offers is working easily with their hardware and OS. I used to be a huge Mac fanboy. Now, I laugh as my son struggles to get a downloaded audiobook onto his iPhone, thanks to all the self-serving limits Apple imposes.

Copying my comment from last time for people that are unfamiliar with why this is the best monitor for Mac:

This is a super niche product for Mac. The same comments will come as always "it's only 60 hz!!" I have a 4K display at work but my ASD at home looks so much better.

This article explains it perfectly.

100% agree, for professional photography editing and graphic design, the professional guys more prefer profession lines from EIZO and NEC. These monitors from Apple are more for entertainment use or just for Apple fanboys.
