The consensus I got when doing research a few weeks ago was to forego cheaper desktop setups and either get a more expensive one, or a portable one.
Pinecil was not recommended due to the relatively proprietary cartridges. Instead I settled on the fnirsi hs-02a.

Thanks I will look Fnirsi. I did pick up a Pinecil, and still waiting for it to arrive. I do like the fact that the Pinecil community is pretty large and active.I dont do a lot of soldering, so I dont expect the tips to wear too often for me.

I have cheap $8 Soldering Iron Kit 60W: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09DY7C...title&th=1
After spending an hour I was not able to do even a basic task - tin a wire ( tried 3 different wire materials, including cupper and aluminum wires), not to say even well soldering two wires. A wetting of wires by the melted solder was very poor. Tried various temperatures 200-480C. What can be the problem? Is it a poor solder material, rosin, soldering iron or something else?

Can this 65W Tilswall Soldering Station improve my soldering experience?

It would probably be an improvement, but you could probably spend the money on a better iron. The main issue, if I had to guess, is the one you are using does not reach its rated temperatures so it was too cold the whole time (and/or cooled off too fast when melting solder).
