I bought the $231 deal and they arrived yesterday. They won't charge and they won't turn on. Best of luck to others. They have about 15% too much clamping force IMO.

They are decent. Sound is nice for wireless. I have glasses and wore them for 2hrs yesterday. No discomfort. I have multipoint going too (dongle on pc, bt on pixel 8), and it's stable with both inputs on simultaneously. The build quality and the cover it comes with is solid, too.

Updating firmware was a bit of a hassle because it requires dongle to connect to the phone then you update through the phone app. A few tries, and update worked. My ears became sweaty, so do keep that in mind if you decide to use them in the summer warm weather.

Unfortunately, I don't have other wireless headphones to compare them to. My Noble Triumph earbuds are a bit better, but they were $350. For $230, N9 hybrid are decent, especially because I can use them with my pc + have ANC on them. Be sure to check if buying from their ebay store is covered by warranty. My initial impression is good, but I want to try it for a week before deciding.

These are only recently released and seem to have pretty good reviews. Supposedly good for people with large ears (hello) and the USB C dongle feature appeals to me personally. Dual device connect and easy pairing with Android and Windows, too. Seems worth a try, IMO. Ordered a pair. Thanks OP!

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to pull the trigger until and went back in here to read your comments. I wear glasses, so clamping is no good for me.

My 15-year-old $30 Plantronics headphones died. I went to Best Buy, Walmart, Target and tried on about 15 headphones as I was worried that new designs would have too much clamping force.

I only thought this because my spouse bought some Bose Quiet Comfort SC which have 30% too much clamping force and made me wonder, are ALL headphones this bad? Those Bose were worn a couple times and sit unused for 5 years. The Bose are uncomfortable after 5 seconds.

These AKG N9 are better and though I didn't wear them long because they don't work, I feel I could have worn them for maybe 20 - 30 minutes before not wanting them on. Then another 30 minutes before being very uncomfortable. I would not be able to wear them for 20 minutes if I put my glasses on.

While I was trying on 15 headphones about 12 of them were pretty good and made me make the decision to buy the AKG. But I wasn't able to try on a pair of AKG. I just thought "these designs seem ok so the AKG should be fine"

One of 3 pair which stood out to me at Best Buy was the Turtlebeach 600/700 Stealth. When I put them on at Best Buy I was immediately happy with comfort, clamp and sound quality. Though I bought the AKG because I was like "oh what a deal the AKG will be better than regular priced Turtlebeach.."

As I waited 4 days for delivery I kept thinking, if there is an issue with the AKG I am going to buy the Turtlebeach 600. Run to Best Buy and try them on, let me know.

I heard that these are not really your full sized over the ear type. More like in the middle of on ear and over. Some say he dongle that comes with it doesn't really make a difference and another had issues with sound distortion. I was thinking of getting them too but...I'm not sure if they are worth the price so early on, especially without many detailed reviews with time.

In my experience trying the headphones in the shops hasn't been very helpful, as by the nature of them being on display, and many people using them the clamp force will not be the same as the new ones out of the box. It gives an idea, tho, for sure.

I've ordered them, as the price is seriously low. Am interested in the dongle of course. The lack of serious reviews is alarming, though. I did find forum rumors that the dongle implementation is actually pretty bad for sound quality. We will see.

If you live in any place with shared walls, your neighbors will appreciate any headphones vs blasting into the open air (& lose fidelity in the process).

Woah, next thing you'll tell us is that airplanes are a particularly convenient mode of travel compared to a boat, on account that they move through the sky (& and so move a lot faster).

I just bought the Momentum's 4s for $176. They sound fantastic and def an upgrade in sound quality from my Bose QC 35s. ANC is still better on the Bose.

Wondering if these are worth trying before deciding between the Momentum 4s and these or just stick with M4s?

Any thoughts?

I just returned momentums. They're comfortable, battery is good. My wife works for NPR, so I trust her judgment where she said they don't sound really great. I love the airpods max's the most for sound. But bc of the job I need to be in a usb connected headset. Momentums do allow connectivity through type c. And wireless dongles is a workaround. Trying those in the next couple of days. The Sonos headphones also sound great.

Alright dumb question. Is the usb-c dongle essentially just a USB Bluetooth adapter for a PC?

No, dongle doesn't use BT but rather 2.4ghz wireless. You can use 2.4ghz with your phone too if it has usb-C. I just use the dongle on my pc and connect to my Pixel 8 using LDAC over bluetooth for simultaneous connection.
