The soundbar itself can play incredibly loud with little compression or distortion with the tradeoff being it has essentially no bass response under 80hz. However, once connected to a subwoofer this soundbar transforms into a monster system with it easily beating out my jbl partybox 300 in output and sound quality with much deeper bass.
The addition of it being a network speaker is a big bonus. I have it connected to wifi and use it through Spotify connect so I don't have to connect my phone to bluetooth to play music. The network function works surprisingly well and works even when the soundbar is in standby.
If you were planning to use this without a sub then do not get it. Otherwise this is a spectacular value and an easy avenue to revive an unused subwoofer.

This would be good for garage tv but everyone says the bass sucks on these.

Well I do have that extra powered Jamo sub I replaced with the SVS.
"Jamo sub comment"
