Unless you skipped the PS5 or Xbox Series consoles, I would say to skip this as the value is simply not there.

Save your money and get a PS6 or next Xbox down the line.

I've played quite a few games that the PS5 slim cannot run at a solid 60fps. I'm assuming the Pro would be able to run the 60fps with higher texture settings as well?
it has to do with the cpu, both ps5 and ps5 pro uses the same cpu which bottleneck the pro and make it hard to hit 60fps.

question y'all: i got 2 young kids and no time to really play. as someone who's ok with nintendo switch and ps4 graphics, regular ps5 should be adequate for me, right?
Just switch to Switch or get a PC
There are no games for even regular PS5.
With the exception of Nintendo console exclusives are a thing of the past.

Lol. What awful advice. Stop it with that burn-in nonsense. Burn-in hasn't been prevalent for years. You're just regurgitating outdated info, while having no hands on experience. OLED is far and away better than Mini LED for color and contrast.
It's getting close and don't forget you will need to factor in a very expensive AVR for 4k120.
And an expensive HDMI cable.

Lol. What in the world are you talking about? You don't need a receiver at all, nor do you need an expensive cable. I got a certified 8K cable for $17, but you can get non-certified ones for even less. You can just plug the console directly into the TV. No receiver required. If you want a sound system, you can get a soundbar surround system with HDMI 2.1 eARC for $300-$500. Also, no… it is not "getting close." Mini LED is fine, but OLED smokes it.

You should really learn about these things before you start commenting.

How did you do that? What did you ask for and was the discount? 10%? Thanks!
I just asked them to match Brandsmart and supplied the link.

Yes.

It's remarkable how much bad information gets posted on Slickdeals. That other poster who replied to you is straight up wrong and really just talking out of their ass.

As PS5 Pro's GPU clocks are much the same as the standard model, we must assume that Game Boost is instead using all of the new compute units in the way that PS4 Pro did not as the increases are substantial. You can read about my impressions in attempting to run Elden Ring at 60fps elsewhere, but the bottom line is that a lot of the PS5 games I tested showed an increase of around 30 to 35 percent in extra performance.

In many cases (like Silent Hill 2, for example), that's enough to make a wobbly 60fps mode run much more consistently. The biggest boosts may come from 120Hz game modes - Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition seemed to show anything from a 30 to 50 percent performance improvements in like-for-like content.

What's more, Game Boost also improves CPU performance over the standard PS5. In Pro-enhanced titles, developers have the choice of running the CPU 10 percent faster at the expense of a little GPU performance.
More in-depth benchmarks here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQs3LRIVEyE

Whether it's worth it is up to you. But it does seem to deliver ~30% improvement in GPU limited games and ~10% improvement in CPU limited games. It's basically able to run the standard PS5 quality mode @ 60fps, and in some cases looks better than the standard quality mode. Even in games that don't hit locked 60fps, like Elden Ring, you still get an average improvement of like 30% and it stays within the range for Variable Refresh Rate on your TV to smooth things out.

Even in BG3 Act 3, arguably one of the most CPU limited titles there is on Playstation, the Pro is hitting around 8fps higher than the regular version (mid 40s vs mid 50s).

I've bought every console since Atari 2600. Even bought 3DO when that came out for $700 clams back in the day. PS4 pro was an incredible leap from the standard console.

Was able to purchase the PS5 pro for $580 and debating on returning it. I have 3 LG OLEDs capable of 120 or 144hz and barely see any sort of graphical or performance improvement with this thing. For most people, the Pro is a complete waste of money.

No luck with BB pricematch here, I was told that's too low and system doesn't let them pricematch to 329.99 for ps5 slim digital. I couldn't do it by chat and in store.

I know from experience
It depends on your setup.
I have my OLED wall mounted ( if you own an OLED and don't wall mount WT EFF are you even doin?)
I don't want wiress hanging all over the place and my cable go through the wall up to the attic and down to another wall where the AVR is so everything has to be connected through the AVR.
If you have over 10 or 15 feet you need special cables for 2.1 4k 120
I have to get a fiber optic cable and replace my old cable and snake it through the wall.
I had to get rid of my wall plates and sync box too.
4K 120 is a picky b1tch and not easy to achieve if you want to do it right.

Best method with best buy price match is to make the purchase for store pickup and get them to price match after placing the order

maybe your eyes are getting bad at this age so you don't notice the difference, btw how did you get it for $580?

I watched some comparision videos. The differences aren't noticeable. It's just some distant details are resolved better, some shadows have more definition. You wont even notice it if you don't know it's a pro version. So I agree with this comment. PS4 pro was significantly better than Ps4. Wonder why it's not the case here
