I debated getting this, but since we do not use minutes much and mostly data, decided to get the $30 a year red pocket plan with 200 mins and 1,000 text and 500mb of data paired with the $10 a month T-Mobile 30Gb hotspot plan. I have an old small hotspot so hopefully it won't be much of a pain to carry in the pocket. This will keep the kids entertained.
Varying by what one needs, I'd say US Mobile's unlimited talk/text and 2GB data plan may be a better option for some. It is $10 a month or annually, $100. They're one of the few that has T-Mobile, ATT, and Verizon networks.
Can anyone shed light on how good is redpocket w.r.t totalwireless or t-mobile based mvno? My mint annual plan is slated to expire early Jan and plan to switch to redpocket. My prime coverage requirement will be mostly in downtown Chicago.
Check out us mobile. You can do a 30 day trial on "light speed" which is TMO MNVO. They have FANTASTIC customer service.
Go to redpocket website you can get 10gb per month for a year for $20 more. Its at $160 right now.
Is that just for new users, or renewals? I'm scanning through and can't see that info yet.
Also, if you've already got an RP account, do you know if they send you a code you can use later, or if it automatically applies to your account? My husband's plan renews in March, and if it's a code when you order direct from RP, I can get it now. If it applied to his account automatically, I suspect he'd lose the last 3 months of his current 5gb plan.

If you renew online via your account you have the option of starting the new plan at the end of your current plan. But the discounts are [usually] for new customers only. If you buy from their ebay store you have 90 days to use the code.

Yeah, thanks, I knew that about buying from ebay. That's where I typically buy. This 10gb deal is what I'd prefer to get, but without knowing if I can use it as an existing customer, I'll skip it for now. Maybe other good deals will pop up on the RP plans before needed.
My RP locked Iphone still has 9 months to get unlock. I don't need that much of data, so I will rather to go with $15X/ year, 5G data. The 500 MB data plan is not enough for me. Thanks,
I posted this deal. I have been using RP for over 4 years, generally it is pretty good, however, not having WIFI calling on their Verizon (CDMA) network is becoming a problem. Thinking of switching to infimobile but some of the reviews are pretty bad.
Depends on whether your physical shipping address (the physical mailing address to which they charge you the $6 to send the flyer and sim card if you need one) is in a state that collects sales tax, or not. The actual activation code is always emailed to your eBay/payment email address.

Last I checked all mvno are the same except fi and visible. Fi is same service priority as tmo but 32gb limit on their 'unlimited' and visible is actually unlimited just lower priority and throttled hotspot.
