Seems like a better deal than the the usual $99 tools sets (297pc Kobalt and 270pc Husky) that are often posted. This one has less total pieces but more wrenches and sockets

I have this set, it does the job. Lots and lots of 12 point stuff though.

Have this set or a variant that looks like it. Been using it for probably over a decade on personal vehicles once a month or so. Value is beyond the price at this point. Well worth the buy IMO for a beginner set or for someone to leave at a cabin or something.

Too many red flags on this particular set in the reviews. The box is very poorly constructed. The laser etching is very hard to read. And some reviews stated local Lowe's stores won't replace or exchange individual pieces, they give you an 800# and the wait times are insane. HF will break apart a set and exchange pieces. Finally, try and avoid 12 point sockets. They're the first to round a nut or bolt. This set may be OK for a garage, but not in a truck or for vehicle maintenance. A poor box is a nightmare in the back of a truck.

It's $89. There will be a couple compromises.

1 more compromise to add is that the sockets do not snap into place at all. They just lay on the tray. This means that whenever you move the tool box you are likely to bounce several sockets out of the tray and they end up on an angle that prevents you from sliding that drawer open. You need to remove the drawer and trays above it to get to the sockets you want. I've owned this tray for 15+ years and that is the biggest PITA of this box. Still, it was a great starter box when I bought this house and I still use it constantly.

Just my $.02
Peace

What makes this a no go for me is no real screwdrivers. Those little socket drivers are always trash. The bits are weak, and get lost easy. Three sets of sockets are unnecessary. A good set with a 3/8" ratchet/sockets sets with a decent selection of REAL screwdrivers and combo wrenches is 90% of what you use something like this for.
