Just pointing out these are being investigated for Chinese malware attacks.
Was surprised by the price, so here's why you can get a 3 pack of $199:

It's only dual-band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz, no 6GHz band in many WiFi 7 devices
Gigabit ports are 1G, so even though the WiFi can support higher connectivity, it will be bottlenecked by the 1G connection at the source. Not an issue if your internet is 1G or lower
It's dualband, so no dedicated backhaul for mesh, so unless you're hardwiring all 3 units, expect it to impact max wireless speeds

That being said, it's a WiFi 7 device, so there's still plenty of functionality that you'll be getting like MLO, which could help with #3. It's also got plenty of features like VPN Parental Controls and Security Protection for free, though they have more advanced options for a fee. A lot of other companies are starting to charge for this, so good to see TP-Link still offering free options.

Would I still get this? Probably, considering the price, but at least I'm aware of the limitations and can make adjustments (e.g., using it hardwired vs. backhaul)
Unless you have wifi 7 devices or ethernet cable to location of the nodes...money better spent on wifi6 or wifi6e with triband to have a dedicated wireless backhaul

Been using TP-Link for many years now. They're really reliable. This is super cheap for a 3 pack WiFi 7 device!

Could I add this to my existing wifi 6e TpLink network? It's wifi 7 speeds between routers right?

This is crucial for US customers. Until this is sorted, no one should waste their money on TP Link stuff.

I heard that TP-Link will be joining other china ccp networking companies with a US ban soon...avoid this brand.

Is it a ban from them able to sell in the US or just US government from using them?

Even if they don't ban it, why would we want a router that can be remotely used for a broader cyberattack in our country by exploiting known vulnerabilities in their firmware code?

Sad day when it happens. The Deco system in my parents home has been bulletproof for the past 5 years. Recommended it to a couple other people who have no complaints. I've only restarted the actual mesh points maybe 3-4 times for them. Get full 300MB speeds via Ethernet backhaul. Their smart home stuff is also crazy reliable putting them just ahead of Eufy.

The amplifi router before this was horrendous. Before that Apple made their AirPort Extreme obsolete. Any ideas on a reliable brand that has decent service (tried Google, Netgear, Asus) but something or another breaks. I have Eero Pro 6E at my home and one of the mesh points has power failed.

Any future recommendations?

Just to add additional context, there are vulnerabilities with TP-Link devices, but I think it's if you use default credentials for your router where this becomes a problem. The secondary issue is if it does get banned, the obligations for TP-Link to continue providing updates to your device goes up in the air.
This YouTube video (https://youtu.be/clESYc9BDvc?si=n...1rF&t=1790) explained the vulnerability in detail and also mentions that other router manufacturers have the same vulnerability in their devices (but are not at risk of being banned in the U.S.)

Do you trust your government?
They even cannot figure out the drones flying in NJ/NY every night!
