This is their budget line. The only line you want from Travelpro anymore is the Platinum Elite line, skip anything else.

I thought I read somewhere recently that travelpro was bought out by private equity and their quality has taken a big hit.

My Maxlite 5 that I loved from 2020ish got DESTROYED by the airlines this summer so I've been waiting for another deal.

Bought the 29" for $140 from nordstrom rack on black friday and I can't tell the difference in quality.

I'd jump on this if I hadn't already bought.

I think this might depend on usage. I bought TravelPro Maxlite luggage after they were bought out in 2016 - in 2018 (international spinner carry on) and 2024 (25" spinner checked). Have had great luck with both, and they are ultra lightweight. At the price of $95.99 for a 25" and $69.99 for a 21", this is an awesome deal. I realize everyone has different use cases and experiences with luggage, but this is a great price on luggage that I personally like a lot.

I have this exact 29" model bag I got at a return auction. There was some slight use, but it was very light and it's been amazing to push around fully packed. It's by far our favorite travel bag.

We typically do 2 round trip flights per year, 1 domestic and 1 international and it really helps having the lighter weight bag.

Thanks for posting, bought a couple more. I bought the 21" for $50 a while back and the 25" although don't remember the price. 25" has a little wear but nothing horrible. If you travel more than 6 times a year I'd spend the money and buy something better, but for the infrequent traveler these are great for what I consider disposable luggage after 3-5 years of use.

Bought one. My earlier travel pro 29" bag got damaged, air france paid me $107. I may patch that one and still use it.

Bought this one. Perfect replacement. Thanks!

I've had a few travelpro bags over the years, and they've all been very good. I recently bought one of these. I
have traveled with it a half dozen times, and love it. Long term durability remains to be seen, but I'm of the opinion that suitcases are a wear item which periodically needs to be replaced, regardless of the duration of the warranty.

the 21" bag is actually 23" in length. Keep this in mind if your airlines is very rigid for carry ons

Been using the Maxlite 5 for 5 years now. Still looks nearly the same as day 1. The best thing about this is the weight. Bags hardly weigh anything!

Came here to say the same -- I've never had issues on major carriers, and would not bring this with a discount carrier. Still a great, lightweight, somewhat lighter duty suitcase if you're not traveling all the time.

Is 21-in better than the 22-in because it's got four wheels versus two. What am I missing

20-30 years ago Travelpro was top notch. Now they're made in China (and elsewhere) and not all that much better than any other bags... so don't pay any extra for the brand name.
