I bought and returned this monitor about 2 weeks ago. For productivity/normal usage OLED is awful. The best way to explain the experience is to look up the word "astigmatism". For gaming there's too much contrast which makes it difficult to focus on anything. If everything has contrast then nothing does. There's a reason why OLEDs are great for TV usage only. When you have a large viewing distance from your couch it's no problem. But when you are 2-3 feet away at a desk you pick up all the problems. Knowing what I know now, I would never buy OLED as a PC monitor. No thank you. The industry is insane for pushing this fad of OLED PC monitors. It's like when they tried to push 3D movies.
I own the 27" LG OLED and it's easily the best monitor I ever used for competitive play.

I have had the alienware 34 ultrawide qd oled for like a year and love it. I'm a grad student and haven't had any issues doing productivity work on this thing. I was worried I would based on all of the feedback I was reading prior to buying, but I think the people who can't deal with the text fringing are just more vocal than the many people who are happy with the monitor. I say this as someone who is usually bothered by picture and image quality issues.

This is a matte version, while the other is a glossy. Some prefer one over the other, some say it's all the same, while others define the ups and downs of both.

Matte is attrocious and defeats the purpose of oled

This is not matte, they both use the same exact coating. The difference is the E2 is 240Hz while the regular 271QPX is 360Hz.
