I got the M4 Pro a month ago but I would personally go for M3 Pro for this price, $450 is a big difference(comes to additional ~26.5% in savings). I use the M3 Pro version for work and haven't really noticed any difference. Most of the performance upgrades are only noticable in certain tasks(e.g. video editing, running LLM). You would know by heart if you need those upgrades.

I decided to buy this for $1750 at Costco instead. 3 months return & 2 year warranty. Also I want to see what the MacBook Air M4 offers. I still prefer the weight & thickness of the MBA.

I saw a few reviews. It appears M4 Pro has good performance upgrades over M3 predecessors and M4.

Also comes with Thunderbolt 5 instead of 4, which seems to be a cool benefit if you need that, should support some more complex display setups if needed.

Because Apple allows them to sell it for this price. Market is slow mate, PC sales are in the dump, if you have been noticing the economy for retail isn't great.

MBA M4 most likely won't be available or released before your 90 days Costco return window. There is nothing new in it, maybe a better display. It will be similar to the current entry level M4 pro with 16/512GB config as standard at best. You know the processor options already, not much left to decide.

The base M4 Air will probably have fewer cores (8 cores) than the base M4 Pro (10 cores) and will start with 16/256GB. Speccing it the same as the base M4 Pro would be ideal but very unlikely.

Agreed. As I said "at best" a.k.a. best case. Bottom line is all options are out there in configs in the 14" pro line of products, not hard to guess based on past trends. If you are keen on correcting me you are more than welcome. Smilie
