I just watched an extremely knowledgeable person on youtube last night regarding setting up an entire solar system. I'm going to re-watch his videos again (the one I watched was from 6 or 9 mo ago... and about 36 min long (or something like that). He goes over EVERYTHING, thoroughly, with regards to what you will need, gauge wire, and more importantly (for me) the WHY you need this or that.

Nov sale got 2 plastic one and 2 metal one. Metal one believe to be the same as DC House 165Ah even its label said 150Ah.

Ran full capacity test twice against each version. Here are the result. Plastic version has capacity 149Ah vs metal version capacity as 161Ah with 33-14A little over 0.2c.

Plastic version seams to have worse voltage drifting above 3.45v and ends with single cell over voltage protection above 3.65v to cutoff charging while metal version has very low voltage deviation among 4 cells even after 3.5v and ends with 14.35v set in bench power supply w/o single cell over voltage. So myself liked metal version more than plastic version based on charge curve alone.

The only con for metal is the weight 9lb heavier than plastic one. Metal case also can be stacked provided you put one 1 inch thick wood in between due to the handle on the top

Having Bluetooth reporting capability at this price and Ah rating makes this a killer deal for me. My problem is I already have some 100 Ah Eco-Worthy batteries w/o Bluetooth - but I don't know what their current capacity really is at any point in time. I know it sounds like a stupid question, but how do you charge these kind of batteries? Do I need to buy one of those auto battery maintainers that are LiFePO4 compatible (e.g. battery tender) to charge this? But those kind of trickle chargers charge slowly. Is there a recommended AC charger that can be used to charge this battery indoors? Is it even safe to charge it indoors?

It's better to get a single 48v battery (or multiple in parallel) than doing series of four 12v ones. This is because balancing each four 12v in series is pain in the butt while a 48v will have each cells balanced by a single BMS not 4 separate BMS that don't communicate.

Yeah, if you can do two sets of these batteries in parallel that would give you 240A continuous (or 200A for 100AH batteries) and it'll be fine. I've done one set of 100A BMS batteries on a couple of golf carts and it seemed to work fine, but it's kind of borderline and it might shut off on you with a full load of people on a big hill.

For a dual setup, you would need a DC to DC charger. Basically the alternator powers the start battery... The charger connects to the start battery and once it is fully charged (it prioritizes keeping the start battery charged), it will send any excess current to the house battery. Renogy sells a few that can also incorporate solar charging. I've used one on my small sailboat for a few years with good success.

If you don't want both incorporated into one unit, Victron is the go-to for mobile solutions. Their gear is robust and and IP65 rated. They sell both units separately and are more pricey. But they are much better regarded in terms of quality and reliability.

I used the 100AH version of these as a drop in replacement for my Ryobi Zero turn that came with lead acid batteries. They work fantastic and are so much lighter. The only other thing I had to do was change to a charger that works with these (htrc worked for me and used the existing port). 100AH was overkill for my yard, I have about 2/3 of an acre lot and can mow 5-6 times before the battery is discharged to around 20% when I charge it back up.

Get yourself a guest 4 bank battery charger and you will not have an issue with balancing. Installed 4 batteries in my cart going on 4 years now and 0 issues.

Just starting solar power journey we bought the 200 watt x2 panels on SD a few months ago and have 4 100 watt panels. We also bought 2 of the portable power banks. Now we are looking now for batteries for living off grid. Is this a good battery to buy? Thank you guys for all your wisdom and insight. Just collecting items here and there until we can put something together.

You're not going to charge these batteries via usb c (at least not without a lot of hassle, and it would be very slow, if you could come up with a charger). Just get any 12v LiFePo4 battery charger.

Realistically, most car battery chargers will work, but it's best to get one that has a LiFePo4 (or LFP) setting.

Hello everyone, looking for advice from someone since it was already mentioned. I currently have a 36 volt golf cart EZGO lifted. The batteries in it now are 6 (6 volt) batteries. I'm looking to upgrade to lithium but wanted to know how many would I need and if these would work for my setup. Would I need 3 of these since they are 12 volt to equal my 36 volts and would I have to do anything else since they are in series? (Inverter or wire they differently?) Thank you for any help!
