I have, they fail like all the others do, but for $20 that's usually my max target price for picking up another and worth it to me considering I use it every day for a few months before failing. The Westinghouse ones are my favorite, since they also fail in the same amount of time but are much nicer. They're usually close to $50 for the winter though and can only be picked up for close to $20 during the summer, so again good price here on the Sunbeam

Thanks for the info! One question, is the timer's only setting 4 hours or can it also be set less time (for example 1 hour while you were falling asleep)?

Typically the controller died, blanket works just fine with another controller. However they died eventually one way or another.

Not exactly answering your question, but I've paired heating pads with Kasa outlets to (not recommending you do this) "reset" the autoshut off timer, but you could use it in a similar manner to shut it off after x mins/hours too, or even set a schedule.

That is a really solid idea, even a cheapo mechanical timer would probably work.

Better off with a quality sleeping bag. You'll spend 5x as much and this will drain your battery pretty fast. On high heat setting they're around 12ah depending on your inverter efficiency.

Bought similar ones from Walmart last year for $15-$17 Mainstays brand with almost next day free shipping. Use and throw (That's why it is also called a throw :-D ). Actually this blanket is a throw which is the smallest size. The main issue is the controller which may give up on you anytime. Last time it conked within a month but luckily due to extended Walmart return, I was able to get a free replacement.
