Wow, such a deal. Love the blue. It seems like 2024 has been a pretty good year for Breville espresso machine sales? Anyway, happy that mine is still holding up after a number of years. Solid little machine.

I just picked up the Bambino Plus earlier during Black Friday for $399. Luckily, I haven't opened it yet since I'm still waiting on my espresso grinder. I originally got the stainless steel version to play it safe. After looking at pictures of the Damson Blue online, it seems pretty unique—not necessarily everyone's first choice, but it definitely looks good. While I generally prefer black or stainless steel, saving $60 made the damson blue worth exploring. So, I went ahead and grabbed it and will be returning the unopened stainless steel version I originally bought.

Time to still look for a espresso grinder. The DF54 is on backorder. What does everyone else use?

Go for the DF64. No regrets here.

One of the bigger differences that's not mentioned between bambino and plus is the three way solenoid.

I like the Baratza Encore ESP. There is some grounds retention, but it is actually less the finer you grind.

I bought a used Sette 270 for $200 to start off. It came with a brand new espresso burr and a lightly used drip burr. Very easy to change them out/clean. He also stated that he just had it serviced and they replaced a boiler or something... He said their customer service was great. It's been working since last year around Thanksgiving and it grinds well. I chose this as I was going for the 54, but it was out of stock then as well!

The only downfall is it is loud compared to others in its $400 price range. Though I'm not sure when compared to the $200ish range.
