I will say the extra 200 on top of the 499$ discounted base model might be better due to the significant improvement of drive performance of this 512gb SSD Model. Depends on one's needs though. Would love love love this at say $669

You need to have an AMEX that earns membership rewards points, and then there is a link (search here on SD) to activate this offer on AMZN. offers vary from $40-$80, nobody seems to know what the criteria are (I got $40, SO got $80)..then you USE .01$ worth of points, or ONE POINT to activate the discount on an order and then just pay the remaining with I think ANY card.
