Run out of 5G/LTE data mid-cycle?
We got you covered with mid-cycle add-ons with two different options.
ADD$2 100 MB of the highest speeds (per 30 days)
ADD$5 250 MB of the highest speeds (per 30 days)
Remember, our add-ons do not roll over cycle to cycle so if today is the last day of the 30 day cycle for your service and you're out of texts, it may benefit you to wait one day for the new 30 day cycle to start. However if you need the additional minutes, texts or data, you can refill directly through your RedPocket account from your mobile phone or your desktop!

I have an older 5GB plan on my phone from last Black Friday season. Got it on eBay. Paid $120 at the time. That plan included hotspotting without a datacap... meaning I could use all of my 5GB of data via a hotspot through my phone, and presuably the "unlimited" 2G data that RP includes when your monthly data allowance is exhausted.
I went ahead and bit the bullet a couple of weeks ago and renewed via the $160 eBay sale price (yeah, I'm out $40... oh well). I know from experience that when applying a code to your account, if the code is for the exact same plan that you're already on, the system is supposed to add 360 days to your existing expiration date. If the code is for a different plan, the old plan is terminated and your new plan expires 360 days from that day. Sure, I could wait until "termination day" and apply the code to not worry about it, but I might be busy, and if it's supposed to just add 360 days, why not do it now?
Since I wanted to confirm that the expiration date would extend out into January 2025 rather than early December 2024, I got a CSR with me in chat. He confirmed that my understanding was correct - same plan = +360 days. So when I applied the code and the date came out wrong, the CSR fixed it on the spot. I'm good until late January 2025.
But here's the thing..... the previous plan HAD hotspotting. The new plan probably DOES NOT have hotspotting (otherwise the local RP guy would've quickly confirmed that as a feature). But when I applied the current 5GB eBay code to an existing 5GB eBay RP account - my hotspotting continues to work without a hitch.
Bear in mind - one data point does NOT mean that I've somehow broken the code. But if you have an existing Red Pocket 5GB plan you paid for through RP's eBay store last year, and you buy an identical plan as a renewal.... if you have hotspotting before, there's every reason to believe you'll have hotspotting later too. Just don't change plans....
Caveat emptor, YMMV, all those disclaimers go here.
I think it's time for a new marketing team. Whoever designed your marketing and pricing strategy this holiday season should be transitioned to another function…or firm. You lost many long term customers, and now you'll have to fight tooth and nail to replace them with new ones…If it's even possible at all. This was your New Coke moment.

If customer service go out of their way to extend the plan (give you whatever is left over + 1 year) then that's the exception.
If you're renewing online it'll work and you can see the options (see example below) but usually they won't have the same deals as their ebay store. Also the web and ebay store operate as separate divisions so even the plans might look the same, internally they have separate codes so aren't the same plan.
Thanks..
Thanks..
Historically they have always offered similar promos for Black Friday. This year they either decided to stop or just didn't think it thru. This particular plan had been $120 in previous years (no shipping charge either). This year they were $186 for Black Friday. After the apparent exodus, including me, they lowered to $166 about a few weeks ago. Now today, @ $126. To each his own to determine how sound a strategy this was. The funny thing is that given how RP utilized 360 day years, all users would eventually have an issue with 'plan creep' as their renewal dates creep forward. And given they held sales only 2-3 times a year and on only certain plans, and purchases had to be activated within 90 days, all users would eventually face a decision on renewing at full price. But RP decided to accelerate that issue to the masses.
In any event, I transitioned to U.S. Mobile.
I bought the BF deal and "shelved" the activation code, knowing I had 90 days to apply it. I then went monthly for two months to allow me to apply the code in late January rather than late November. I believe the monthly plan was $15 at the time, there might have been a discount for the first month as there is now ($10 for month 1, $20/month thereafter). Got it thru the RP website.
Since the 5-6 day creep will eat through a 30 day month every 5-6 years, I guess the most cost-effective approach would be to wait until the plan expires right at BF.... buy a code and shelve it for 30 days, buy ONE month of discounted service through the webside to push your need date out to Christmas-ish, THEN apply the code and not have to deal with it for anoher 5 or so years. You get the advantage of the BF annual pricing, and once every 60 months you pay for ONE month via the website at a (probable) discounted rate.
Look for the word "unlimited" when describing their data. If it's there, there is no hard cap.

Thanks! Any thoughts on which carriers/plans I should be on the lookout for?
Anybody using Infimobile? sounds much better deals than Red pocket.
- RP magically halved my data in February, and throttled me as a result. Happened last year as well at one point. Got it squared away with CS and asked them to just add the affected days back onto my account, or just do a prorate of some sort (since I was paid for something which they didn't give me). Well they said no dice, they admitted fault and refused to give me the time back in any way.
- Their plans are less competitive per GB than they used to be. I used to be able to get a $15GB plan for less than $20 but that doesn't exist anymore.
- The hard throttle is obnoxious. I rarely go over but if I do (or when RP magically throttles me) then data becomes completely unusable.
Happy so far with visible bit too early to say. What's weird is the speed increase. I expected some differences between ATT and Verizon networks but not to the degree I've experienced. On RP my DL was never much above 40mbps using speedtest. I get 10x that with Visible. It's almost like I was only ever 4g on RP 🤔If it has been less than 30 days since your original purchase and you have used less than 30 minutes, texts, and MB, you can request a full refund for your initial purchase, and then purchase the product again before the special sale ends.
Regarding the hotspot feature, it is available for eBay plans. The data usage will be taken from their data balance.
* And also added a 2.5% *admin fee*, too (web) on top of the previous recovery fee ($1/mo,$12/yr)

I had to reach CS to resolve the "wiped out" balance issues... Good price now. BTW, why they charge shipping cost now? They just email the code and flyer thing to your address.
