I definitely believe that it's on purpose. The qs still seem to work just fine at other stores. I think they are trying to push that universal coupon program, or whatever it is called, that they agreed to be a part of and are planning to launch soon. It's awfully strange that real qs were working fine, CVS agrees to something new, and all of a sudden they do all these updates that cause valid coupons to scan as invalid.
Coupon24 has already been launched at CVS. Works very well.

I knew they said that they were soft launching it in January for testing purposes. I would probably be more enthusiastic and open to trying it had CVS not stopped a lot of valid ip and mq from working.

As I understand it, the idea is for all of the stores to join Coupon24 and that will be source of your coupons. If I do a Tide deal at CVS with the Coupon24 coupon this week, what happens if I want to do a Tide deal at Walgreens next week? Will I have another Tide coupon to use if Walgreens is a Coupon24 member or is it one and done? From what I've read, you have to wait until it resets which could be a month. If this is correct, I see Coupon24 as a way to limit our savings and not as anything that would help me.

Agree. However, the few YT'ers I've watched that have used it at CVS say that the q did not disappear after they used it. Maybe it's limited, like 2 per user? We'll have to wait and see if other manufacturers (besides P&G) and other stores decide to join.

I think that if we're going to share coupons, we should also share rewards. I'd love to be able to use the EB's that I got from CVS on groceries at Vons. It would make brick and mortar retail a whole lot more interesting.

with the new coupon24 app, you know how you need to register with your phone #? Wonder if they would link cards if you try to use the same app on different CVS accounts

Interesting question! I don't even have my phone number associated with any CVS account right now.

Rite Aid & other companies tried this with "Plenti" and it end terribly. It's not a good idea to link at all.

Plenti didn't work because you had unequal companies (RA, Macy's, gas stations, car rentals). Coupon24 is retailers that accept coupons and opt into the program. The first step is the have universal coupons. The next step is universal rewards. It would be a good thing to use the rewards I earned at CVS at the grocery store. Everything else I don't like. It doesn't really matter because I'll be 70 pretty soon so I'll be out of the game anyway. Of course, I don't have a crystal ball. This is what I think will happen and I could be totally wrong. However, if CVS and Kroger are Coupon24 retailers down the road, why would you give CVS an EB program and not do the same for Kroger? The idea is universal - everything into one. Ibotta will be in the picture, too.

I think that we're heading towards everybody selling everything for the same price. The elephant in the room is Amazon. How do they fit into the picture? And what happens to the individual sellers? The manufacturers want control and they can't have that with Sue undercutting Jill's price. Things are really going to change. Maybe there's no answer for what will happen. I'm sure that CVS has a masterplan for many years ahead but will it actually happen? That's anybody's guess.

It didn't work because it was a bad idea and this universal nonsense is going to be the downfall of couponing. I prefer it all remain separated.

I totally agree but what I want and what is probably going to happen are two different things. If I had my way, we'd go back to 2010. Maybe couponing was better before then but 2010 was when I started to know what I was doing. 2010 was when Wags and RA were my go-to stores and I only went to CVS when I had some time to kill. 2010 was when Kmart had double coupons. Nothing was a good as double coupons at Kmart. You could buy thousands of dollars of stuff and have Kmart owe you money.

CVS before 2010 was the best time. I always walked out of that store paying only taxes or none if I bought food. All the free stuff they had given to customers through ECB to just keep buying. walmart had been great for a little bit because you could use coupons and get major O there too. Lots of free stuff. Kmart didn't have as many doubles in my area but I got a lot for free because of their clearance. Giant Eagle was great during the Kool Aid Era. They was paying us a fortune to buy kool aid packets. LMAO I mean and then of course wags.
