This is an older model with a plastic chuck, I'm not sure if this is a brushless one.

The ones this size are handier than a shirt pocket. I'd get one but I already have a very similar craftsman one from a deal several years ago.

What do you want for $17 ... :-) At least it's a 12V drill. You won't even find a decent 12V drill with a few drill bits and screw driver sets for this price. Of course, it's a DIY tool for small household work. Most drills in this price range are brushed and 8V.

Literally what I thought. My kid can have his own tool and it's actually same price or cheaper than those fake toy drills.

According to the description, the one in this thread has two speeds and quite a bit more torque.

Is this really any useful? I am looking for a drill day to day doing home stuff so not much use of drill.
Thought of going for Ryobi, but I think this should also work .

it's good for dry wall and soft woods (e.g pine).

If you're a home owner, get a Ryobi. You'll eventually buy other stuff in the Ryobi line where the battery can be re-used.

Thanks for the response.

That make sense, recently bought a home and definitely will need others stuff.

It would be good for drilling holes in wood, drywall and similar materials. Give it a shot as it sounds like your needs are modest.

I have a similar drill from another brand like this that works pretty well for small tasks. Even the underpowered lithium ion power tools are far better than the old tools that were similar and used NiCad.
