512gb has been $417 with $50 for some while $440+ for most people before BF and lasted at least several weeks. Don't recommend at this price as the new model is right at the corner

True but the new model will cost almost double the price for just a merely 20% improvement.

I dont get it. This thing is too big for traveling. Screen is too small for gaming. Why not just get a budget laptop with rtx 4050
People have been using Gameboys since the 90s, and the latest round of handhelds (steam deck, Ally, legion go) have been very popular

Dont get this if you don't like to fool around in Windows and tweak things. It has a native portrait screen and if you're unlucky, you'll be spending time on reddit asking how to fix issues instead of just playing.

I have the 1tb and I plan to use as a travel laptop for shorter trips (< 7 days) so I don't have to lug my 6lb laptop around. Probably add a pair of AR glasses to play games lying down in bed.

You can play sitting in bed, but not lying down. This thing is not small and light.

Love it so far though.

Beginner question :

Is this a proprietary device like Switch with its own games to purchase ?

or is this like a Android tablet that can run Android games and emulators and all ?

The lowest I've seen for the 512gb model was $470. Where could you find it for lower for several weeks?
I haven't seen $417 but $450 at Target for the 512 GB. Some also got a 15-20% single use code.

If you're in the market, it's a great device. You could always get it now and wait to see if the Go 2 has specs you're willing to pay for while you're in the return window.

It's a Windows pc basically, so it can run pretty much everything.

Thanks .
What do people use it for most ?
Regular Windows PC games ?
Or non-Windows games like Emulation, Android etc ?

For all those asking, this is a handheld Windows 11 PC with an XBox controller and the soul of a GameBoy.

Too bad the large screen on this doesn't have VRR.
I would grab the Asus ROG Ally Z1 extreme from Best Buy if you can find a good open box for 400$ (there were quite a few excellent condition for that price before x-mas).
Additionally, the Corsair MP600 2TB SSD usually goes on sale for 100$ to build a 500$ 2TB handheld.

How exactly do you know it'll be twice the price?

There is a slightly smaller model coming out which will be cheaper. Than there's a bigger model coming out with a next Gen processor but I don't think it'll be twice the price. Definitely more than 20% improvement.

Agreed, people speak with such an air of clairvoyance on the matter… which is to me admittedly hilarious. *NEWSFLASH* We don't KNOW what the pricing scheme will be on the "next-gen" system(s) yet people.

As a wise-man once said to me; things could always be slightly better, as one may realize. But could also be much much worse, ways one wouldn't or couldn't even realize. Realize that all is well and embrace/ enjoy that which is here & now. Before it's (potentially and/ or inevitably) gone... forever... A bit dramatic/ philosophical, I know, but it's the holidays cut me a break. Dwell/ long for/ mourn NOT missed-out-on or lost experiences; because ultimately Where We Go 1 We leGo All.

Ps: See what I did there at the end? ; P
