Reading reviews on Amazon, they all look so fake it is unbelievable. Same style for 100 reviews in a row. Fakers should be more creative

Had to dig around to find the specs for the battery capacity. 37WH @ 12V = 3300maH... Tiny battery, barely more than a single AA battery.

As a comparison, this Avapow was recently on sale for $50: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
This one has a battery capacity of 32000maH = 384Wh @ 12V.

It comes out to $28.48 for me before tax. So it seems like it works as op said.

Good deal. This one has the bypass/boost button on the base of the jumper cables, which not all of these devices have. I have had this model for about 1.5 years too. It's helped in a pinch a few times.

edit: adding other info for others: it recharges via USB-C which is nice. It takes a while to fully recharge. It can charge other devices via USB-A at max 2.4 Amps. 37 Wh for battery capacity (which isn't much when compared to a standard USB power bank, but nice in an emergency to plug your phone into)

edit 2: I said compared to a "standard USB power bank". That's misleading and poorly worded on my part. The physical size of this unit is about the same size as a 20,000+mAh power bank. However, it's much lighter. The listed capacity of this unit is 10,000mAh. (37Wh)

Do you leave it fully charge? I know its always shorten the life of the battery.

Do you leave it hidden in the car when in hot weather?

Just learning about these jump packs as I decided I should have one. Does this low battery capacity just mean it doesn't hold a charge that long?

The problem with many of these packs is that they are useless if your battery is completely drained.

Jump pack often used when you're in a jam, so choose wisely because nothing worse than when you need it and it doesn't work. My old noco gb40 failed me once in a cold day. I was at the mercy of a stranger. Projectfarm is a good place for reviews.

Storage of jump box prior to use makes huge difference. I had same experience with gb40 as well. Storing lithium battery in a cold car is realistic but far from ideal, especially with such a minimally acceptable jump starter.
If I were to spend noco gb40 $ again I'd buy the gooloo 4000a that performed well on project farm.

These chargers don't last very long and how many times will one use it? Better to get one from Costco so when it does not hold charge, one can return it anytime. The Chinese ones don't last total waste of money.

I believe your math is incorrect. Have to use the voltage of the battery cells in the unit, not 12v.
This AstroAI model is 10,000 mAh = 37 Wh
10,000 mAh = (37 Wh * 1,000) / 3.7v
The Avapow you listed is 32,000 mAh = 118.4. Wh
32,000 mAh = (118.4 Wh * 1,000) / 3.7v

Assuming the listings values are actually correct from these manufactures, the Avapow does offer more peak amperage and more capacity, but even if it was for sale at the price you listed, that's over 75% more expensive. Also, you can't buy that device for the price you mentioned now.

If someone doesn't have a vehicle that needs the extra peak amperage to start it, the AstroAI is a fine device for the price.

For anyone else reading: You don't want to store any of these devices in very cold or very hot temps. It's a nice thing to have in your house, or to take with you. If the device works for your vehicle, it's nice being able to use it rather than ask someone to jump your car with cables.

That being said: Always carry jumper cables in your vehicle. If this, or any similar device, craps out (or if you didn't bring it with you) jumper cables are the way to go. Have a stranger give you a jump from their vehicle and you are back on the road.

True with following caveats:
1. If you are alone, have some way to fend for yourself.
2. Maintain or develop social skills that help ensure assistance from strangers.
3. Know how to open your hood, proper jump start procedure, etc. Practice.
