Reading reviews on Amazon, they all look so fake it is unbelievable. Same style for 100 reviews in a row. Fakers should be more creative

Had to dig around to find the specs for the battery capacity. 37WH @ 12V = 3300maH... Tiny battery, barely more than a single AA battery.

As a comparison, this Avapow was recently on sale for $50: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1
This one has a battery capacity of 32000maH = 384Wh @ 12V.

I'd encourage everyone considering the purchase of this jump starter (which to be fair, is a good deal) to read page 12 of the user manual. It's actually quite detailed, if not a bit confusing. Apparently, this jump starter will put out 1 full strength jump attempt at 500 Amps, and three 300 Amp jump start attempts. As somebody else, above, had mentioned - the mah is fairly limited here. It appears the unit is constructed of 4 (3.7V) Li-Ion batteries in a series with a total capacity of 2500 mAh (14.8v).

Also, a quick note from Google Gemini's AI... you need at least 400 A to 600 A to jump start a normal car battery. So, according to the PDF instructions, this battery pack is only good for one single 500 Amp attempt (and Three 300 Amp attempts). So, looks like (at best - under full 100% charge of battery pack) you'll get one *good* shot to jump start your dead battery.

Quote :
Yes, a 500 amp jump starter is generally considered enough to jump start most standard passenger cars, as most vehicles require between 400 and 600 amps to start properly; however, factors like engine size, battery condition, and weather can impact how much power is needed.

Does anyone know if these types of devices work for hybrid vehicles? Or do they operate differently than gas-only cars?

Just learning about these jump packs as I decided I should have one. Does this low battery capacity just mean it doesn't hold a charge that long?
Low capacity battery = doesn't do you any good when it can only provided the power for a few seconds.

For these types of devices, it's always best to go as big as you can afford.

I got this 5000A device back in August for approx $55 on sale. Haven't used it, but it seems legit... If I'm ever in need, I hope it saves my bacon!

Not to trash anyone, but people without solid understanding of electricity shouldn't so confidently give advice.
Just because you can multiply some numbers you don't really understand and can ask ChatGPT some questions doesn't mean you should confidently share your "expert opinion".

I have this and it works great. I jumped my car 30 times in a week once when my battery had an issue (turned out to just be loose cables) I have also jumped a strangers truck who was failing to jump with their old-school big ass portable jumper.

You're comparing the mAh output of this battery at 12 V versus an AA battery's output at 1.5 V. That comparison doesn't seem useful.

The battery specs are in the manual on page 12 for anyone curious. It's linked directly on the Amazon product page.

Also, I believe you're listing the second battery's mAh at 3.7 V instead of 12 V. Which is another apples to oranges comparison. This battery is 10,000 mAh at 3.7 V, so the gap isn't nearly as wide as you make it seem.

The problem with many of these packs is that they are useless if your battery is completely drained.
Much has to do with cars electronics(and/or lack thereof).

So, you have a "solid understanding of electricity?" Did you read page 12 of the user manual? What statement are you disputing? The instruction manual specifically states that the battery pack (at full charge) is good for one 500A start attempt and up to three 300A start - states it right in the instructions (1 "S" stands for 1 start).

Thanks for posting the manual! Their website shows a different manual and now only lists 300A.

I wonder if they changed the internals.

How do these companies calculate the starting peak amp ratings for these units?

Is this just tricky marketing similar to how battery banks list the mAh?

Really? This small of a capacity? I would think a battery that small could not jump a car, even with a huge capacitor. Seems like it has more being a jump pack. Where are the specs? Not surprised since people will sell crap on Amazon, especially in a consumable/disposable society.

Can any of these inexpensive jumpers withstand the heat of a car parked in the summer sun without the risk of fire or explosion? Let's say a high temp of 130-140 degrees for a full couple of days?
