Great collection of games. I crave some new rpg style metroidvanias. It feels like all we get lately is rogue-like. I'm so burned out of them.

If you like arpg's, Path of Exile 2 just came out in EA like 3 weeks ago. Its $30 and GGG gives you that amount in credit also, you can buy plenty of tabs with that. Ive played PoE for around 3k hours, its amazing. 2 is much different but improves immensely in QoL and looks amazing.

I bought recently on gmg for $15. Solid collection of games that still hold up very well today. Must own for fans of metroidvanias.

Did you play Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth? I thought was an excellent Castlevania-like. No roguelike mechanics.

Did they do any upscaling? Not expecting a hd remaster, but at least are they better than the ds version?

How recently have you not played a good metroidvania? I feel like we're getting so many good ones in past years. Hollow Knight is probably the best metroidvania of all time. Nine Sols came out this year and it's really great. I can name a lot more if interested.

You can sort of see an hd version of the opening for the games on the main menu. And there's a gallery with high resolution scans of original art. But the character sprites and most art assets in the game are the way they were on the ds. I think some 3d objects got cleaned up but as most of it is pixel sprite art, it remains untouched.

These are great games, but I don't think they have that same rpg style to them. Most metroidvanias lately have been trying to jump on the soulsbourne rogue-like bandwagon, and I'm getting burnt out on them. How many games can you play that require precise controls through spiked walls, ceilings, and floors before it starts getting old?

That's fair. I just played through Aria of Sorrow again last weekend and there's something about the grind that's pretty enjoyable.

Yes, I played it. Short, but pretty fun. Bloodstained was also a good one.
