I can't speak for the price, but I have this and two other peelers and always grab this one. The reason being the depth of the cuts/peels. It takes off significantly less potato compared to my OXO peeler and whatever other silly potato smiley face one I have. I feel like I am loosing way less vegetable when using this one. I've had it for probably 8-10 years and occasionally use the brush when I need to clean a root vegetable but am not peeling it but I really prefer this peeler to my others.

Got this. Came in a set with a few tools when I bought the RR pan set. It works, but not great. We actually have three peelers and this is the last choice.

The people questioning this combination either don't cook often enough or are too close minded to see that it could be beneficial.

There are many things that can be consumed with their skin still on such roasted whole potatoes which you would want to clean first. Having a brush elsewhere is fine but that takes up more space than this. It also emphasizes that the brush is for food only.

For those bemusing at this tool...

Potatoes, carrots, other root vegetables, are often dirty, even too dirty to peel. So, you use the brush (with a little dish soap even) to clear the dirt off, after which you may choose to peel or not.
