Centr 2 for $999 was a great deal in Nov. If you don't need the Smith machine add-on, I would wait for the Centr2 to go on sale again.

If spending this much on a smith machine like this I would recommend looking at the Iron Master IM2000. It's very high quality but you need weights vs this one.

Any thoughts on this versus the more expensive force usa G series i.e. G6 or G12? Seems pretty similar but I'm wondering what I would be losing out on.

To the folks who own this, does this need to be bolted down to the ground? Any risk of it tipping over?

That's the reason to buy from Costco, so you can return it.

Or you could wait until everyone else's returns hit the liquidators.

Or just wait until May or June when they're free on Craigslist.Smilie

Have this, love it. It does not need to be bolted to the ground. No risk of it tipping over. Be certain of where you want to set it up as it weighs an absolute ton, so get the delivery truck to drop it off in your garage if at all possible.

I have this. It took me probably six hours to put together going slow to not make mistakes, but was straightforward. Once you have the five basic frame pieces bolted together, one person can do the rest. There's a good assembly video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b...3Fk&t=521s

Looks like a very well built machine. Lots of thoughtful features like locking the smith machine bar so you know where to stop when squatting etc. 360 pounds on the bar ain't bad either, plenty for most people. Comes with a tricep rope, EZ curl bar, ankle cuff, and a belt thing. If I didn't already have a full setup, I would totally grab this!

Would these really be given away for free on CL?

I bought this exact model at Costco back in Nov. and it is a great machine. it is solid!! I use it on a regular basis as it is a great machine. I hav efound if you buy the cheap stuff, doesn't feel nice, thus you don't use it. Not the case here

There is a youtube video on how to put together.. I put together all on my own. Took maybe 4 hrs at a slow pace. Super easy. Use your own ratchet set and it will go faster than the tools they provide (they show in the video on which ones u need)

It comes in 1 HUGE box and they only deliver to the first floor. I had them set on driveway. There is smaller boxes inside it. I got to my basement all on my own, even the side support pieces..that on its own was a good workout!

Keep in mind to use the WHOLE weight on the machine, you have to be using the bar. If your just using the 1 stack, the max weight is 180lb and with me in my 50's that is fine for the most part.

The locking mechanism on the bar takes a bit to get used to, but once you do, its fine. Plenty of online videos showing all the various exercises you can do
I was looking at the next model up they have, as it allows you to use all the weight, even if your just using the side station, but for the amount it was, for me, wasn't necessary. I think that's my only complaint with the machine---wish it had a bit more weights. But over all very happy.

I do NOT use the APP it supposedly comes with. I tried and it didn't work. I have no intention of using it, so did not contact the manufacturer.

A great price. Check the various online reviews and I think you will find most say its a great machine.
