I had 1-gigabit internet with Xfi Complete (for unlimited data) for a couple of years and was paying $115/month. I was tired of spending so much, so I called to decrease the plan or find any promotions. I got an upgrade to 2-gigabit with a 2-year contract for $88.

The 2-gigabit plan was not an option online.
Number I called: 1-800-934-6489
(I had to go through many menus to talk to a real person.)
Your mileage and availability may vary.

Note: I understand that I will not even be able to utilize 2-gigabit on most of my devices, but I plan to run some new CAT6 and get a 2.5Gb switch for my primary desktop.

I have been using xfinity for over 10 years but get tired of calling in every year to beg for lower price. So I am switching over to fiber service for $55 per month for 1gig plan with symmetrical speed. Right now I am paying xfinity $86 per month for 1gig with only 20mbps upload speed (and the price will go up in a few month to over $100).

Was able to get 1.0gb same as I have current from $90 to $65 month/2yrs with unlimited using my own modem router combo. I want the 2gb upgrade but best they said could do was $120 for that.
So stick with the 1.0gb.

My area is $120 for 800mbps with xFi complete. Had to sign up a new account for $70 for 500mbps xFi complete. Def YMMV dependent on market area

Comcast rep is telling me they can't find the deal (also in SF), but they said they can apply the discount code if I have the number of someone with the discount. Any tips or anyone willing to share via PM?
were you able to replicate this? I'm also in the Bay and rep keeps telling me they can't find this deal anywhere

I work from home in an IT related job and need good solid connections so that I can RDP to servers and move files around. I also download torrents. I downgraded to the 400mbps plan for $35 and I cannot tell any difference in performance because I'm using wi-fi for most devices. Your connection speed is only as fast as the slowest part of your infrastructure.

For most people, 2gbps would be pointless.

As long as you don't need to upload large files then Comcast/xFinity's paltry asymmetrical upload speed won't hinder your experience

What's the new customer promo price? You can always sign up as a new customer every 1-2 years and get the promo price.

Anyone know if cancelling and signing up P2 as new customer trick still works? Would be using my own modem for P2.

You can use the ≥ +1000/100 filter and that should show it, I think. I can use it to see that I don't have 2gig but down the street it's available.

I see....
New customer pricing is $85 (12 months, no contract) or $90 (24 months, 1 yr contract term) and both include free modem and unlimited data and also 1 yr unlimited mobile line that usually costs $40/month.
That map is pretty good. I've got 1000mpbs down, but notice xfinity has 2000gb not far away in every direction. It looks like the 2gig has 200mpbs upload, where the 1gig still has 35mbps. 1gig d/l is overkill for me, but I'd like better u/l speeds and I miss fiber cause of that.

Have comcast, but it recently went up due to contract expiring.

Anyone know if you can increase the upload speed? They limit it to about 35MBps.

Zippy offers full up/down, was considering switching.

You can't choose your upload, you're either provisioned for the higher speeds or not and it's node/split related.
