God I hate intel CPU nomenclature

One would think that the n97 would be weaker than n100, bigger number usually means better CPU right?

But no! The n97 is better than the n100...why not call it n105? N110?

Anyway, good deal lol
Just so people know, I bought this one over black Friday and yes it still had the malware. But I did a clean wipe. All is good
Oh, if it asks you to do a windows setup without attempting to connect to WiFi and it had a chrome browser preinstalled.

What I did was I created a windows 11 install drive via windows 11 media creation tool then offline, I booted the USB and deleted the entire drive and did a clean install.

Thanks for the info! How do you know it had the malware, and what type of format did you do to remove it?

This seems awesome. What's the catch? I've previously been looking at the new Mac mini and know it's more power than I need. Goal was really to hook it up to my router via Ethernet and use it to interface with my synology nas for plex and file downloading etc

N97 has only 4 cores and 4 threads. Is this little able to hanle remote work, 10+ tabs in Chrome and casual 4k movies? I have one 4K monitor, one WQHD monitor, one 2K monitor on my current dekstop using i7 4770 with 1060.

So from what I can gather, this mini PC has a 12th generation n97 chip which is a mobile line Intel developed for their laptops and mini PCs. This on (n97) has 4 cores and 4 threads, that can go up-to 3.6 GHz and is good for efficiency. As far as a comparable processor to this, something like a Core i5-4690, but at this same time this little guy only has a TDP of 12W and a max memory of 16GB, which this comes maxed out at.

So I guess this is a very low power mini PC, probably something good for a home NAS for movies or pictures.
