One really important thing to note, and the reason I cancelled my subscription, is that effective March 1st 2025, instacart+ members no longer get reduced service fees. I just checked and my order from Costco on Dec 1 had a service fee of $5.75, which was reduced to a dollar and change because of instacart+. Be prepared to pay that entire fee come March.

I would highly recommend keeping an eye out in your email for promotions for stores. I had an ALDI $20 off $50 (not the highest discount), but I could use it three times. I used discounted gift cards from Costco too. The first two times I used that promotion I was not offered the $19 price. I used it last night, and the $19 membership finally showed up. I was going to pay $1.99 for store pickup but it was removed since I got the subscription. I also noticed in the app that I have $25 off $35 for restaurants I need to use.

If that's the same $25 off restaurant deal that I had (I think it is) it's actually not $25 off $35 0r more. It was 50% off of $35 or more with a max discount of $25.
So it would take a $50 order to get $25 off.

I started to order on that 'deal', but cancelled the order when I saw Instacart was charging approx $12.50 in an up front 'service fee' which was even before the other fees and tip added in.

I was a previous customer. I downloaded the app again, my offer was $49 for a year, no peacock. One of the reasons I stopped using it was my credit card gets more cash back if I use Google Pay and it just stopped showing up as a payment method in the app one day.

Could you elaborate more on discounted gift cards from Costco? Can you use a Costco gift card on instacart?

Costco has $100 Instacart eGift Cards for $80. (link [costco.com]) I have also seen Amazon occasionally have them discounted for $85. (example). Please note, once you put the gift card into your Instacart account it is stuck there.

Agree that sometimes the additional offers plus the Costco discounted gift cards make using Instacart worthwhile, or even slightly cheaper. For example, a local store offers free pick-up for alcohol, making it 20% discounted on liquor (which my state never allows).
