Walmart has Bose Smart Soundbar 550 w/ Dolby Atmos for $199. Shipping is free, otherwise free store pickup is available where stock permits.

Note: Availability for pickup may vary by location.

Thanks to Deal Hunter Eragorn for finding this deal.

Features:
  • Only TrueSpace elevates it all. Dolby Atmos is great for elevating the sound experience of certain movies and TV. But most content isn't Atmos-encoded. For full immersion all the time, there's Bose TrueSpace technology. No matter what you're watching, TrueSpace intelligently analyzes signals other than Dolby Atmos, like stereo or 5.1, and up-mixes them to create an immersive multi-channel sound experience. Instruments, dialogue, and effects are separated, then placed around the room. A.I. Dialogue Mode automatically balances voice and surround sound for ultra-crisp vocal clarity, so you hear every word without sacrificing immersive elements.
  • Big-time tech for a small soundbar. It wouldn't be a Bose soundbar if it weren't packed full of technology. The acoustic architecture of Soundbar 550 squeezes five transducers — including two that fire upward — into its compact frame. They all work together to spread sound around your room: horizontally left, right, and forward, but most importantly above to reflect off the ceiling
  • Streaming. Any way you want. If you can get it on your phone, you can hear it through the Bose Soundbar 550. And no matter what you stream, it all sounds deep and rich. Connect to Wi-Fi to access integrated music services and internet radio stations through the app. Or stream songs and video with Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, or Chromecast built-in. It's your entertainment — you choose how you stream it

I was skeptical but this sounds great. Always been a big fan of Bose QC series and lately they hit out of the park with the QC Ultra headphones and earphones. Very skeptical of their speaker solutions but for its size, it really hits above its weight and size. Expansive sounding and reliable.

One trick, I was able to get the subwoofer working with a generic adapter to work with any subwoofer. Use a summing 3.5mm to RCA mono adapter. I used this one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014X11Q0Y

I think similar adapters should work. The app shows a Bass Module 700 detected and it's worked for several days now.

Edit:
There are similar adapters available around but just make sure it's a 3.5 stereo to rca.

Also, not sure how people aren't seeing bass from these units. It's painful to the ear how loud it gets with decent adult hearing at max volume and the bass is enough to shake the stand feel the couch slightly shake.

I purchased it at the same price and tried for a few days before returning today. My main need was to improve dialogue clarity over my S90D speakers. They were great for that, but lacked absolutely any type of bass. I had also bought Yamaha 1090 for 1/3rd the price. Yamaha had better bass than Bose and was a tad bit worse in dialogue clarity. For me, the improvement in dialogue clarity with Bose wasn't worth the price difference. I ordered another Yamaha for my LG C8. Will wait to spend more for a much better system later. I didn't find Bose to be a good value for my purpose.

This or the Beam Gen 2 refurb from Sonos for $299? RTings seems to have that being a better buy

Bought one on the last deal. Sounds great in my bedroom with lower ceilings. If I didn't grab a Q600C for $100 brand new on fb market the other day, would be grabbing another of these.

Please note when you register this product with Bose, it shows the warranty was expired for this product and checked with customer service, they said "the warranty is based on manufactured date but they will honor it if we have the receipt with recent purchase date".

I got this a few months ago on eBay during a Bose refurb sale for like $180.

It recently started conflicting with Sony TV and kept turning that off for some stupid reason.

I ended up removing it from the equation and putting our old Samsung bar in, and no issues.

No idea what's up with the Bose, but AmEx already refunded me for it, so it just sits here now.

Pulled the trigger on this a few weeks ago with the last deal to pair with my Samsung s90c TV. To be honest I'm not that impressed. Don't really here too much of a difference versus the base TV speakers. Maybe this needs to be paired with the subwoofer but that's another 399.

In for one. My ear is not that picky but Bose does make a TV sound better.

Beware: From a guy burned by multiple Bose Soundbars - they sound great but the tech is trash. 1-2 year life if lucky. Sounds starts cutting in an out after 6 months, bose will send you to change CEC options in their primitive app. It won't work and Bose Support will stirng you along until you're stuck buying refurbs for $200 a pop. This is well documented if you look

Did you try boosting the bass in the app? On my unit, the bass shakes the TV stand it's on and I can feel it on my couch just from the unit itself. It's at least as good as the Yamaha 1080 in my bedroom.
Yep I had bass up to 100 in the app and I found the bass to still be weaker than the 1090 Yamaha. At that point, Yamaha was $60 compared to Bose being $200. I tested Bose with some YT videos for testing different frequencies and it really struggled with anything low.

Bass can be boosted from the Bose app. Following settings are available and defaulted to 0.
  • Center channel
  • Height channel
  • Bass
  • Treble
I've currently set Bass to +80 but think a lower setting might be good enough. Not sure what the optimum value for other settings are.

Try the Yamaha 1090 for $60 on eBay. I was in the same boat with my S90D. Yamaha is a great choice at such a low price for something you can use while waiting to upgrade to a better system. My thought was the same that the soundbar at $200 + $400 for sub gets you at $600. I would rather get the Samsung system (S990?) that could be had for around $800 and will work much better with our Samsung TVs.

I've been looking at soundbars. I went to bestbuy earlier and listened to the Bose 600 (which I think is the same as this with some more features). Unfortunately I was not impressed either, with the sub it was decent, but in its own no kick what so ever. Keep in mind I could not adjust settings.

They had the Bose ultra soundbar there as well, that sounded really good, but is much more dollars.

Yep I am using "movie" setting with enhance voice and works great for my need. Tried surround also on but didn't like that.
