Walmart has Bose Smart Soundbar 550 w/ Dolby Atmos for $199. Shipping is free, otherwise free store pickup is available where stock permits.

Note: Availability for pickup may vary by location.

Thanks to Deal Hunter Eragorn for finding this deal.

Features:
  • Only TrueSpace elevates it all. Dolby Atmos is great for elevating the sound experience of certain movies and TV. But most content isn't Atmos-encoded. For full immersion all the time, there's Bose TrueSpace technology. No matter what you're watching, TrueSpace intelligently analyzes signals other than Dolby Atmos, like stereo or 5.1, and up-mixes them to create an immersive multi-channel sound experience. Instruments, dialogue, and effects are separated, then placed around the room. A.I. Dialogue Mode automatically balances voice and surround sound for ultra-crisp vocal clarity, so you hear every word without sacrificing immersive elements.
  • Big-time tech for a small soundbar. It wouldn't be a Bose soundbar if it weren't packed full of technology. The acoustic architecture of Soundbar 550 squeezes five transducers — including two that fire upward — into its compact frame. They all work together to spread sound around your room: horizontally left, right, and forward, but most importantly above to reflect off the ceiling
  • Streaming. Any way you want. If you can get it on your phone, you can hear it through the Bose Soundbar 550. And no matter what you stream, it all sounds deep and rich. Connect to Wi-Fi to access integrated music services and internet radio stations through the app. Or stream songs and video with Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, or Chromecast built-in. It's your entertainment — you choose how you stream it

I was skeptical but this sounds great. Always been a big fan of Bose QC series and lately they hit out of the park with the QC Ultra headphones and earphones. Very skeptical of their speaker solutions but for its size, it really hits above its weight and size. Expansive sounding and reliable.

One trick, I was able to get the subwoofer working with a generic adapter to work with any subwoofer. Use a summing 3.5mm to RCA mono adapter. I used this one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014X11Q0Y

I think similar adapters should work. The app shows a Bass Module 700 detected and it's worked for several days now.

Edit:
There are similar adapters available around but just make sure it's a 3.5 stereo to rca.

Also, not sure how people aren't seeing bass from these units. It's painful to the ear how loud it gets with decent adult hearing at max volume and the bass is enough to shake the stand feel the couch slightly shake.

I purchased it at the same price and tried for a few days before returning today. My main need was to improve dialogue clarity over my S90D speakers. They were great for that, but lacked absolutely any type of bass. I had also bought Yamaha 1090 for 1/3rd the price. Yamaha had better bass than Bose and was a tad bit worse in dialogue clarity. For me, the improvement in dialogue clarity with Bose wasn't worth the price difference. I ordered another Yamaha for my LG C8. Will wait to spend more for a much better system later. I didn't find Bose to be a good value for my purpose.

Which rear speaker did you use?
Bose Surround Speakers is the model name, they'll come up when you google them.

I got lucky and got the sub for $200 and the rears for $170 off FB marketplace.

I had issues with the 700 model which kept disconnecting from my Samsung TV requiring pulling the power plug. Fixed the issue by also connecting the optical cable along with the HDMI ARC cable.

Is there any difference between this and the Bose 600 now that the 550 has smart features? Got an Bose 600 open-box floor model from Best Buy for $169 but didn't include a remote and wondering if this is worth the extra for brand new, assuming they're the same now.

I got the Bose soundbar 900 in 2022 instead of the Sonos Arc soundbar because I thought it sounded better. I wonder how this compares to them or to the equivalent of Sonos's lower tier soundbar if there is even a lower tier version of the Sonos Arc

Do you know if or when Bose plans to release an updated version of the Bose Surround 700 speakers?

I picked this up and I think it is the most disappointing soundbar I've ever had. It barely is louder than the tv I have it hooked up to which is a very budget Hisense 65". I have it hooked up via the optical cable. It gets louder than the tv but it really doesn't sound better. Did I get a dud one?

I thought this is a nice upgrade for my bose soundbar500 + bass module 500. However, other than dolby atmos, it felt like a downgrade:

1) no adaptIQ feature
2) bose universal remote is not supported
3) voice control - I can forgo this but just wanted to point the difference. I understand SB600 has it.

For me, it sounded higher pitched and metallic than my original SB500 even with paired Bass module. Maybe I did not tune it more, but the lower sound quality was hard to ignore for me. Hence, returning after 2 days of use.

If there was no comparison, maybe I did not return it as it seems reasonable enough for the price point for a Bose speaker product.

I'm confused how a single bar can produce Atmos directional spund? Anybody?
Bose 550 is technically same model as Bose 600. Was renumbered to Bose 550 for Costco market and other outlets. Hope this helps: https://youtu.be/CgGUBS6EK_o?si=xlcLxYRxONkmuS9d

I bought the refurb unit from woot last week after the prior WM deal expired. Wondering if I should return the refurb and get this instead. Any suggestions?
My suggestion is to always spend a little more for new over used products.

You're probably in the market for a Sonos Beam 2 from your description.

Yes its compatible 100% as mentioned by couple of users in reddit forums. Most klipsch subwoofers and some polk subwoofers work with bose smart soundbars. I am using polk wireless subwoofer which i got from FB marketplace for $50 and bose sound bar identifies it as Bose 700 bass module on the bose app.

You can connect any brand of surround or passive bookshelf speakers, as long as you use the bose wireless receiver power brick that was designed to use with bose surround/ invisible speakers. The connection from bose wireless receiver to speakers are just the traditional speaker wires that goes into any passive speakers that has speaker wire terminals.

I purchased the bose "virtually invisible 300" wireless receiver power brick from eBay for about $100 and connected my old polk surround passive speakers, works great. Also had an old JBL bookshelf speakers lying around, which also worked well.
