Isn't Air India one of worst international airlines and dirtiest?

Not a particularly good deal. Travel inside Thailand is cheap. You can easily find a hotel in a great location for under $100 per night. Or rent the equivalent of a nice AirBnb for under $50 per night. You can get massages from a top-reviewed massage parlor for $25 per hour or more typical massage establishment for $10 per hour.

Don't know about this specific trip, but their flights also use Russian airspace, which is unsafe these days.

Nah, they'll just be in the room you're in anyway. Kids don't eat much and obviously won't be boozing. Thailand is a fairly safe vacation destination.

Why is Russian helpful there?
Thailand has traditionally gotten quite a bit of Eastern Europe vacationing there, so they do speak Thai. Ko Somet is an island I remember seeing lots of Russians. That's my favorite island to visit as it's close to Bangkok

It's not. Many Russians moved to Phuket when the Ukraine war started. There's a few Russian businesses catering to Russians but you're unlikely to see them in tourist areas.

It's exaggerated. I was in Phuket for two weeks and only saw Russians on the beach and night club. I think Thai folks don't like the large number of Russian immigrants/influence/money so there's a little bit of hatred there.
I was just in Aruba at Divi and LaCabana and it seemed like half of the people spoke Russian

I'd take my kids to Thailand over some places in the US.

not very slick at $180/night, you can find similiar luxury for 60-120$/nite. there are semi luxury highrise hotel for $30/night in patong. the hostels are $7/nite. phuket is relatively expensive but tourist safe area of thailand. great tropical get away, beautiful beaches. lots of activities.

ofc all those amentities make the deal worthwhile, youll easily spend 80$/day on 3 meals 3x a day, massages, taxi getting there, meals for kids etc. so i guess this is an OK deal for someone who doesnt want to plan and just wants an all inclusive resort stay. and bleive me you dont want to plan a trip on the spot out there, lots of pitfalls.

Can you imagine traveling half way around the world, and then staying on a resort?

I was in Pattaya in 2019 and there were a ton of Russian businesses and Russians there, but it didn't seem to me like i needed to know Russian. The restaurants owned by Russians all spoke English.

For the people saying this is not a SlickDeal, be specific on the alternatives. This deal is all-inclusive resort and is beachfront. $231/night to stay and eat three meals for four people seems pretty good. For context, I just spent $135 for a dinner for four at Olive Garden (you know you secretly like it).

Correct. New planes. It is also now owned private and not government owned. Better service and planes have been slowly coming in since last year.

Air India sucks. Going private hasn't helped at all. My wife was traveling back from Delhi to New York in the summer and they just unilaterally canceled her reservation because they had overbooked the flight and put her on a flight two days later. This was just two weeks before the trip. Phone calls, chat, in person visit to the airlines office - nothing helped. On top of that, they didn't give any compensation. Their website says the compensation policy is available at the airport but the airport folks said they don't have it. They just give you the runaround from the web to online chat. Opening a complaint ticket with them didn't do anything either - they simply kept repeating that you are not eligible for compensation but wouldn't provide any details on what their compensation policy is, either. A couple of months before that they had canceled a scheduled flight from New York to Delhi so the plane could be diverted to get the Indian cricket team. This is explicitly prohibited but they don't care.

multiple airline rankings puts AirIndia above several US air carriers, as well as above many international ones (just google to name a few)

any particular reference or source to backup your claim?
or you just being nasty to anyone you don't like
I don't know what surveys these are, but our plane from JFK to DEL and also from DEL to JFK last summer was very old and not at all maintained. The seats were broken, the entertainment system didn't work on many seats, the charger plugs were almost all broken, the plane was dirty - you name it. I have never seen such a badly maintained plane interior in my life, and I have flown a lot. Before that I used to think Air India was decent, but this was just awful. I am flying to Delhi again soon and the first thing I did while searching for flights was to eliminate Air India from the search.

Echoing what others have said. Not that slick of a deal factoring in airfare. Have a friend that immigrated there as the cost of living/quality of living was so much more beneficial than staying in America. He lives a similar lifestyle, less things like massages, cooking classes, tea experiences, etc. for about what this costs each month.
But it does seem reasonable and super convenient for someone that doesn't want to take the time to plan out a week long trip to Thailand. And that's the old man in me. Young me would get into a beater car with a backpack and figure things out on the fly. Married me likes cruises as everything is planned and timed, and I can show the wife where the bar and pool are. 😂
