Hmm…we've gotten a new member deal every year for probably the last 10ish years. Alternating between my wife I and haven't had any issues at all.

I did it from the Sam's Club app. From there, click on the Account tab and scroll all the way to bottom. It'll say "Request to delete online account". I haven't checked from their site.

It has to be from a new account with a new email address. You can also request your expired online account to be deleted (24 hours) and then recreate an account with that email address.
How do you delete your online account ? I can't find a link anywhere in. The my account page.

We tried that before and it did not work for us. Even w/ different emails. Glad it worked for someone else.
I finally got it to work for me. I had to:
-Use a new email address
-Use a new phone number
- and use a new credit/debit card

and then it said "You look familiar, JOIN or RENEW" and I clicked JOIN and their system said meh…ok you are a member now

I've been doing this deal for the past 10+ years. It gets annoying and has become a PITA. Last year I signed up for the Sam's MasterCard credit card and the 5% cash back I get from just getting gas pays for the money saved from doing this hack every tear. I've earned over $200 in cash back and all I buy at Sam's is gas for two vehicles and the occasional roast chicken. I go to Costco for everything else. If Costco were closer, 30 miles away, I would cancel the Sam's (1 mile away) membership.

Used my wife's name and an iCloud generated email address (same address) and still get the "This information is associated with another account" and "this offer is only for new members" with only option being to renew or continue without offer. I normally alternate between my wife and me yearly but it seems they are wizing up.

Where I live there is no Sam's, Would this $20 membership still be helpful in anyway? Thank you.

I doubt it. Didn't see anything about free shipping with standard membership. Frankly, outside of some gas, I rarely purchased anything in Sam's. Wasn't too worried about it expiring, it was $15.

I'm scared that all the deals I want to order online with the plus wouldn't be eligible for the free shipping. 😅

Once I submitted all my info, I was presented with the option to either renew or sign up as new customer. I chose new customer. Then the next screen said I could not sign up as a new customer. There was an option to proceed without getting any coupon deal.
To me, this unique clumsiness and inefficiency (in all areas), is what defines the Sams club experience. I turned back.
Everything about shopping there sucks, except the prices. And the administrative stuff is always a nightmare.
I think they did me a favor by not letting me make payment.

I'll just stick with Coscto only again this year. (and willingly pay 3 times the $20 Sams fee) Costco costs a couple bucks more on every single item, but the service and administrative experience is exponentially better than Sams. Whole different world.

Sams lines are the worst of any retailer I've ever visited. (one disinterested lackadaisical slow-motion worker per line) Lots and lots of total line stoppages, pushing membership upgrades during checkout, frequent slow-motion trips by the cashier to the office for help/advice, while the huge line waits like zombies. ...Whereas Costco has probably the fastest (per item) register of any store I've ever visited. (always at least 2, often 3, and sometimes 4 workers processing just one line)

they have to be the dumbest people at samclub not letting old members sign up with the discount they should even give you free stuff to sign up again to their crappy store .

Not possible from website :-(
We swap between my wife and my email every 12+ months since you need to have an inactive membership for at least 6 months - last year, I had to call to delete my account before activating a membership. I also had to ask the desk to disable auto-renewal!

I will wait and probably use the Groupon for $25 since we still have 1 month left.

Thx.
