Motion activated is actually very useful when cooking, except in the rare instance that it turns on at the wrong time.

We love ours.... You can turn it off. It also turns itself off after so many seconds, to minimize wasted water.

The cheapest one of this brand on ebay is $120+. You may have found a different brand cheaper, but that's not the same.

Yes, there is a knob on the sensor box where you can twist to make it into a manual faucet.

On most, it can be turned off. It's a very limited range from the sensor that activates the faucet. So rarely would it ever turn on falsely, at least in my experience. Extremely helpful when you have dirty hands. I don't have this specific model but my friend has one by flow very similar and everytime I use it I never have an issue.

You can, but we love having the motion sensor; it's really nice when your hands are dirty and you don't want to touch the handle. You quickly get used to doing it all the time. The only "problem" we've ever had is that sometimes water that got on the faucet body drips down over the sensor and might trigger it.

The $75 one doesn't have motion sensor, though, so you can save $15-25 going with that model (or the $60 one if you like that style).

I've had both and hated the X. When the X went on sale for $100 sometime in the past year, I decided to get it and replace our 770 (which was working fine) with it and move the 770 into the laundry room. I guess I kinda liked the look of the X a little better, but the handle was a PITA to turn using your wrist or elbow. That might seem silly to say, but when your hands are dirty or soapy and you want to change the temp on faucet, you don't necessarily want to have to grip the handle with your dirty/soapy hands. We were so used to being able to easily change temp with a simple nudge that using the X was a non-starter. The shape of the handle doesn't give you the leverage to do it.

We have an original Flow - from before Bemis / Bio-Bidet bought them - and a newer one. As far as I can tell, they are identical except for the branding on the faucet body. The originally just has "FLOW" on it, while the newer one has "FLOW" in the same place, same font and size, but with an added "by Bemis" in tiny letters underneath. Maybe the internals are different, but they don't appear to be.

Well, there is a bypass on the mixer body which bypasses the sensor, so yes.
