You seem to live in a fantasy world where tesla's software could just be slapped onto any car. It can't. Not without rebuilding the car from the ground up. It's not just FSD. It's not just infotainement.

You are WAY oversimplifying the concept of "software" for a vehicle with the rest of your statements. There are dozens of computers in a modern legacy car. Each coming from a different vendor. Each with their own proprietary software. Each that needs to be licensed by the manufacturer to make a single change to.

None of that is true for a Tesla/Rivian/Lucid.

How about Windows, Microsoft is collecting license fees.
Why nobody asks Tesla either to license their software or FSD then? Musk trying actually give it for free, just to split subscription fess, but there is no takers lol.

That's hogwash. It's all about control not ability. Tesla might be ahead of most auto manufactures, but no where near as good as CarPlay and AA. Full stop. Tesla doesn't have a robust ecosystem. They don't have a mobile phone. No system in 2025 should be limited to a single car from a single manufacture.

They have. Because Apple already had a bad experience with licensing they turn down all requests. People have gone to great lengths to jailbreak, side load, and emulate the OS.The iOS UI was one of the first, and remains one of the most popular, Android skins. Tesla can't give it away and Apple is constantly fighting to protect their IP. Totally different situations.

Thanks OP, got one with S trim today. I managed to get a deal of $2000 down payment and $154 per month all included. So it's around $1100 over the standard trim of the posted offer.

I went to the dealer in Washington state and i got the following quote: customer cash - 999 with monthly lease 300; customer cash- 3790 with monthly lease 190 or customer cash 4780 with monthly lease 150. I am going to try other dealers tomorrow.

I called maybe like 4 dealers. Went to 2 dealers in so cal and went back and forth with 2 dealers about the deal. And last one gave me a id.4 s with 10k miles per year for $153/month plus about 10% tax and $2500 down (all in cost including tax, dealer fee and the rest..) I think they really wanted to get rid of S.lol Pretty happy Smilie
