i have the 2023 i'd.4 on a lease and can honestly say i'm counting down the days until this car goes back

one of the worst cars i've ever owned, technology is very poorly designed and frustrating, countless recalls and range is mediocre at best.

there are many more comparable options when it comes to EV. Chevy Equinox being one that is also very well priced.

My personal opinion would be to get him a used car if he or she a new driver. Cheaper insurance and less fear of damage. Damaging a leased car is going to be costly. Not meaning to offend or anything, just providing my own experience as an ex-college student.

Might want to consider a used EV instead. Model year 23 one owner vehicles under 25k should qualify for an additional 4k discount. the lease deal looks to be 10k per year for mileage. Prices exclude taxes and fees. I have an id 4. Can't say I would recommend it

so has anybody actually gotten the deal for $999 down and $149 a month in CA. I called a dealership here and they didn't even call me back which is rare for a dealership so i figured its not realistic. As for the VW electric, i have a 2019 E golf for 5yrs. now with 100k miles and have had zero maintenance issue with it. Spent probably less than $700 in the past 5yrs for the service that was recommended by dealership which i'm not even sure if it was a real service (voltage check). OEM set of tires lasted me 40-60k miles and this second set is somewhere between 40k-50k miles and still have plenty of life on it. Only complaint is i wish it was longer range and a bit larger for family. But paid about low $20k before $7500 federal tax credit and state tax credit for it back then and probably one of the best deal i've ever gotten as far as car purchases go.
We got this deal from Timmons VW in Long Beach. They were awesome to work with

Can you share how much you paid for equinox? It is 2024 or 2025? Is super cruise included in it? Thanks!

Where are YOU in CA? Up here in far northern CA, it's more like 15c/KWh for home electricity. 50 cents is nuts when the California average is only 30 cents. 50 cents/KWh is like a tesla charging station charge.
Isn't there a PG&E option in SoCal that offers EV charging rates at 10c/KwH for off-hour charging? I know there was a couple of years ago, but don't know if it's still in effect because rates down here in San Diego have almost doubled since the pandemic.

PG&E is also paying for the fire that leveled the town of Paradise. I'm sure that's costed into the raises, not just COVID. They should be taken over by the state. So many years of profit first attitude.

I went to a dealer today in Miami and they had no intention of even coming close to this deal. The "best" they offered me was a 3 year lease with $2500 down, $358/mo and only 7500 miles/year. The MSRP was $44k like the deal states but they said it would actually be $47k with no explanation for the difference and minimal ($1000) rugs and dumb add-ons.There really is no way to hold them to it and they will just say it's VW corporate marketing's fault.
