They're a lot of fun and easier to cleanup. Having a big breakfast cooking area while camping is really wonderful.

If you cannot level it easily, don't bother, I'm talking about car camping on uneven ground. The way this unit is set up, I will pass. I have the one with 4 legs and replaced the bottom plastic inserts with adjustable ones, having a level or slightly canted back to allow drippings to flow into the grease trap is key.

yes. great price, but terrible model. the rolling one is a pita. unless you are on pavement or a deck, you arent going to want to roll it around as the wheels are solid and the thing bangs around so much that you feel like it will break. so instead, 2 of us carry it. id rather the one with the fold up legs and just carry it solo. also, setting this one up on a surface that isnt level is impossible. you need to carry a bunch of blocking and shim if you use it while camping. the one with the fold up legs is infinitely adjustable. and if you dont know.. blackstones need to be just about perfectly level, or the greases wont flow where they need to flow.

Anyone have this model that can comment on how easy it is to convert? Also, lots of complaints about breaks in the weld by the wheels. That would be an easy fix if someone knew how to weld, right? Thanks.

well, to have frying pans with 361 inches of cooking area, you'd need to run about 5 12" pans (accounting for what you lose in the sides of the pan). Or just one, completely flat 22" pan! Do you have a 22" pan available?

Lol, don't buy one then. I know exactly how much easier it is to care for and clean this vs a pan. I couldn't care less if you disagree. Someone asked why, and I told them my experience.

Do you own one? Because it sure sounds like you don't, and never have, and just want to hate on them because you think they are a fad that doesn't make sense to you.

In my experience, the "maintain against rust" is way easier to do than with a cast iron pan. Easy enough that it is almost laughable that someone would bring it up. As for cleaning, its wayyyyy easier to clean a big flat surface you can scrape off with a flat metal scraper than it is to clean a curved surface as well as everything around it you dropped food on, including the depths of the burner/grill..

I am also anti-cleaning and pro iron oxide.

Might as well live in a 10x8' room so you don't have so much floor to vacuum and clean.
