I have a relative that is disabled after a stroke and uses an elliptical sometimes. He also can't work his legs very well and seems to be able to manage. That being said, my opinion is something like a recumbent elliptical would be a safer bet if the risk of falling is an issue.

I dont think its suitable. I have a better brand, and I think they are not light exercise. My husband used this kind ( but better ) of elliptical machine that you can do with sitting down when he had his cardiac recovery in hospital.
