Tool only is $99 and a reminder they were selling these with 2x - 5ah for $199 for the last few months

I believe that is for the non-fuel version of the angle grinder. The fuel version at HD is listed at 249 (tool only) or 199 with 2 batteries (out of stock). You can find the fuel version for about 110 on amazon but 200 or more at tool sites. I do not have either grinder so I do not know if the fuel version matters here but for other tools is does make a big difference.

Sometimes you can add the individual items and when in the cart it gives you the combo deal and then you pick up the one item and not the other. Apparently not working on this but that's why you ask the question. Not sure why the thumbs down on saving more money if you don't need the battery.

Is it a good deal if I have no Milwaukee gear and need a grinder? I've been wanting to get into this battery system and replace my old Dewalt NiCd setup.

If you are just starting out in a new ecosystem I would prob wait until there is a deal on a larger package for the m18 fuel stuff. These tools have such high margins they will come around.
