Sometimes a comment is so out of touch that a simple thumb down is not enough to express my bewilderment. 🤣

If you like hot beverages there is a use for it anywhere. It ensures that my last drink of tea/coffee/hot chocolate is the same temperature as my first drink. I love my ember!

Unless you live in death valley and only drink coffee outdoors in the middle of the summer then there is always a place for it... anywhere. What an odd thing to say.

Does this burn the coffee flavor if it keeps it warm for a few hours?

Yes. I found this device to be pretty worthless. because of this. Even at the lowest setting is slowly steams the coffee and burns it down quite a bit which totally ruins the flavor. I ended up with one of the warmers with a lid and find it far more useful.

No schedule feature? OH MY GAWD. I'm disappointed it doesn't have a self clean feature. I want it to whirl water and dish washing soap and then eject all of it.
Not too sure if and why you are sarcastic over my comment.
Just for context, the mug is supposed to be smart and it does have an app, it even has a timer. At least for me, it makes sense to have a simple schedule feature, so I can turn off the mug to save power, for example when I get into a meeting where don't have time to sip; and turn back on at a certain time, like after my meeting.
It is a somewhat niche product for sure.

I hate this piece of garbage. If you're an android user, they released an app update that broke connectivity for a lot (all?) of android users. My mug requires me to reconnect the bluetooth, with like 50% success, literally every time I open the app. Since you have to do everything through the app, it makes this thing entirely worthless. Look at the app reviews and you'll see tons of people complaining about the same thing. Worst part is I have messaged Ember twice and they have ignored both of my emails.

Even when it did work, the battery lasts maybe 1 to 1.5 hours at max temp. The additional cost list is essentially required if you want to use this mug anywhere away from the charging coaster.

Haters be damned — love mine and it's been running for about three years.

One thing I learned is that if you put sugar in your coffee and don't stir it, the app will say the mug is empty and not heat. Make sure you stir!

I'll add my experience as another Android owner. I don't love the app's UX, but mine has never lost connection to my mug which required re-pairing.

I rarely need to use the app but it works when I do. It can be slow to connect but it eventually does. I've had my mug for about a year and I've only had to re-pair when I got a new phone. I just leave my temp set around 136 and never change it.

For all the cheap mofos like me, get a double walled mug, it's not as good as this product however will keep your drink at a stable temperature for 30mins at least.
You can find one for $5-10 and they last a year or more before the vacuum stops working.

Does anyone know what Costcos policy is for price adjustments? I bought this in store around November 1st for 100 bucks. I use it almost every day and love it. I set it at 135 and it keeps coffee warm for about 1.5 hours. I don't notice any big difference in taste. I know Costco is great on returns, but do they adjust after 2.5 months?

The one at BJ's that was recently sold for $40 is a mug without a handle. I ordered two at that price and never bothered to pick them up and the order was canceled as expected. No handle no sale. But would have been a great deal if it had one.

I have a NextMug, which is similar. I use it to keep coffee hot while working. On the low setting it keeps my coffee at the right temp for me and it will do that nearly all day if needed... Not that I would let it sit that long. But it's nice to be able to grab a hot cut of joe even after an hour of it sitting.
