Sometimes a comment is so out of touch that a simple thumb down is not enough to express my bewilderment. 🤣

If you like hot beverages there is a use for it anywhere. It ensures that my last drink of tea/coffee/hot chocolate is the same temperature as my first drink. I love my ember!

Unless you live in death valley and only drink coffee outdoors in the middle of the summer then there is always a place for it... anywhere. What an odd thing to say.

Meh. My $10 insulated mug keeps my coffee very hot for hours. If I put the lid on it, it stays hot all day long. It's dishwashable. And microwavable. These Ember mugs seem cool and I'm constantly intrigued by them but, even if I really try to justify it in my mind, I can't see how a mug that requires charging and is not dishwashable or microwavable is somehow better. I'm trying my best and I cannot find a problem that this solves.
My freshly brewed coffee cools until it hits my exact preset temp…and then stays exactly there for 30 or 40 minutes while I drink it at my own pace. I don't have to guess what the temperature is as it's exactly perfect every time. And as my Ember has lasted me for years, the price per use is ridiculously low.

And what hot temperature would that be?
Well for me that would be 136 degrees - every sip. I hate cold or even lukewarm coffee/tea and this ensures that it never gets to be either and that I can take my time drinking it.

Slickdealers hate Ember mugs! Their loss though, because these mugs are awesome. I'll get this one as a backup. Been using them since 2020 and there's no going back. It's not about heating your coffee, it's about keeping it at a specific temp - the perfect temp of not too hot or too cool.
Love mine, I use it all day long. I drink coffee and tea all day long and it's the perfect temperature every single sip.

I have used This Mug for years. It keeps the coffee at a perfect temperature that you like to drink at.
Very useful for people who sip on coffee all day.
The battery life won't be the best so do t expect for it to keep doing the best job while not in charging.
I usually keep it on the charging deck. Only move cup when needed and the battery will do its job.

I bought a few ember cups when they came out; the ceramic ones will chip and loose their coating, we got replacement and it happened again, this was all while handwashing. Are the stainless steel ones better now?

This actually made me wonder so I went and checked, and sure enough there is the exact replica mug on Aliexpress. I would guess it is the same mug, it's even called Mug 2, same as this. However it's $57, so while still a lot cheaper, probably worth the extra bucks to get the brand name for ease of warranty replacement.
They have these base heaters I was looking at last year (like a mini hot plate), which was portable, but I ultimately decided against it and when I go out and need a hot drink I just use a contigo or the like which does the deal.

Good find tho, thx.

I've had 2 using daily. Scrub regularly and no chip ever. Not sure how hard people are washing them.

They did charge $5 shipping since it's OOS in my local warehouses. Still these never go on sale and this is a solid deal.

The newer ones don't have this problem anymore.

I've been using mine for years, the caveat is that I work from home so my charging base sits on my desk. I can't stand warm coffee so this is a lifesaver

Bought one for my wife a year or so ago and she initially questioned her decision to marry me. Then she used it a few times and now loves it more then me. She bought a second charging coaster so she can have one in the kitchen and one at her desk and insisted we get a few as holiday gifts for coffee/tea drinking relatives this year.

I still think it's dumb based on my use case (prefer could brew and when I drink hot, usually finish long before it has a chance to cool off), but for someone who prefers to leisurely sip and likes it to stay hot, it definitely serves a purpose.

She has still refused to admit that it was a good gift, unfortunately...
