This literally is new..... Came out like 2 months ago.
Stop supporting them. Get a 9070 or rx7900. No difference on gaming
This thing is a beast. Worth buying for anyone doing a new AM5 build.

No one can convince me 480.00 is a good price JUST for this CPU . I stopped gaming a couple years ago and do mostly productivity work now. Picked up a 13700kf for 180.00 used but came looking new and it's a beast, running some now cheap manually oced b die DDR4 in gear 1 and everything is near instant....
With the 300.00 difference that can pay for a lot more GPU for most gamers.
This is not a slickdeal, this is a shill deal.
Did you just compare an old used CPU to a superior new CPU?

I hope you were convincing people to buy used slower AMD Cpu's back when Intel was selling quad core CPUs for $400

It still won't ship for another month, so I believe it really has been OOS at retailers. But AMD must have told them to not allow backorders until today.

I bet AMD has been keeping production relatively low to build up stocks of the more expensive X3D CPUs. People have been buying scalped 9800X3Ds anyway, so why not try to cash in on that action now.

I currently have a 9800x3d system built w/o a GPU. I'm waiting for nvidia to disappoint me with their 5000 series announcement this week so I can give them money anyway because I dug this hole already.
Huge scam 5000 is lol. Hiding raster performance bc it's not really much better lol

I ended up just ordering the 9700x for $320. I had $120 Amazon gift card from Birthday and Christmas so I just paid $225 out of pocket. It would have been $399 for the 9800x3D but I don't get to game as much as I used to so I'm not sure it's worth an extra $175. Haven't seen a 7800X3D lower than $449 right now other than AliExpress. I know it's not the best gaming CPU but it will do. I read it performs better now they raised the TDP to 105W One can always hope there will be a 9700X3D in the future.

When ordering computer parts on Amazon make sure it's sold and shipped by Amazon.com to avoid scammers or scalpers.

I've bought this on Amazon 3 times (when the price has dropped to $479) and they've cancelled my order 3 times...

Just ordered it again. Whats a 4th gonna hurt?
Are you flagged by Amazon? Do you return items frequently? Just curious because I ordered mine and it's still pending too, but it's sold by Amazon.com

I got one from Micro Center two weeks ago for the same price. If you don't have one around, it well worth getting from Amazon, very fast CPU.

Problem is AMD flat out gave up on the high end after they learned chiplets were bad for GPUs at the high end at least for now. Nvidia thought the 7900XTX might have been competition and they didn't price the 4090 that egregiously. This generation however is a different story, AMD isn't showing up to the high end debate so Nvidia can say whatever they want.

Gamers on the low to mid range may have a choice but high end is a different story.
So are those needing blender software kinda screwed? Also, I assume this cpu in OPs post isn't compatible with gaming edge wifi b550 mpg.

Ok, 200.00 for it new off woot. Keeps coming back in stock. Just as fast and you can OC it. Under half the price. Put the 280.00 towards a better GPU, you'll get way more extra frames out of that 280.00 worth of GPU than this CPU.

I've got the terminal AM4/PCIe 4.0 set up with the 5800X3D, likely jumping to 5080 or 5070 Ti once they're out. Crossing my fingers I'm not significantly bottlenecked by my set up.

nvidia mafia inflated 5xxx , intel and amd need to step up
They did not inflate the price.

We inflated the price by buying it.

They would be forced to lower prices if people stopped buying their GPUs.
