What the hell. Are people really spending half grand on their outdoor LEDs?

Any recommendations on cheaper but reliable permanent lights?

Thinking about it. 😄 We do a lot of Christmas lights each year. I've been thinking about syncing lights with music and there's forums dedicated to the cause. Govee seems to do a pretty decent job.

I have our entire house kitted with 400 ft of Govee from Black Friday and the HOA is telling everyone to take them down. Mine are very hidden behind the gutters (and turned off since Christmas Eve) and I still got the letter. Gotta love HOAs.

Those aren't the Pro version (cool + warn white and spliceable).

These just don't feel like a replacement for bulb lights or similar. I think it's the shape and lack of visible bulb that just takes away from any sort of Christmasy-feel. You get the color of Christmas but that's it, the conical shape of a projected light on a flat surface just doesn't create enough depth or brightness to make you say "Wow". This year probably a dozen people in my neighborhood put them up and they only look OK.

yeah, also not a fan.

I like the idea of a permanent (but also somewhat hidden) light, but I prefer the look of bulbs vs a projection of light.

Also the pre-set animations are just too much and mostly too fast. I don't like most "chasing" style traditional bulbs either for the same reason: looks tacky. A slow and graceful fade effect is about as much as I'd ever want on my house.

I have Eufy E22 and so far they've been great! 100 ft is usually on sale for under $200.

I think these are in the "do not over do" category. Just keep your house classy, not some strip club in the city Stick Out Tongue

Nothing beats simple classic lights. Lots of houses go overboard with lights, it looks like Vegas strip

I have similar lights (eufy E22s) and living in the mountains I enjoy their utility more than just using them for christmas lights.
I have several scenes set up: Only light up the front porch, light up all 3 entry doors, only light up above my bbq so I can see what I'm cooking during winter, turn all the lights on bright white to scare coyotes off, etc.
It's very nice being able to walk outside at night and have full surround lighting.

They Eufy branded version looks nicer, in my opinion. It has a dedicated WLED, I use it on WLED all year. The app has pre-set things for holidays, you set those up on a schedule and literally set and forget.

Installation on my soffit was NOT fun because I'm a punk and hate heights.
