Decent stuff! If you want all that piping sticking up. Hansgrohe is a middle brand though, don't be fooled by the "German" cachet.

Here's where you can learn all about faucets and where they're made and all. The best faucet guide IN THE WORLD.

Top notch German brand. Pros: high quality, precision made, parts available for decades, detailed installation instructions and repair, drawings available. Cons: expensive. This is the exact opposite of no name brand plumbing parts on Amazon. Buy 2 of the same, each made completely differently, so no available parts - throw it away if anything breaks. Up to you what you prefer.

Yes. This is a pretty crazy price for a German made faucet. I have Axor (upper line of hansgrohe) and Hansgrohe stuff around my house. Sold brass cores, heavy pieces.

the chrome variant is on Amazon for $250 new $170 used (probably open box return). Dunno if this is good or bad product, but MSRP is likely pretty inflated so don't get anchored on that

So close! I'm looking for a faucet that has a 10 inch gap between the faucet downspout and the base

Good brand. Our shower is set up with 2x of this brand and has worked great for the last 5 years. Costco has a similar Kohler faucet on sale this month for $150, so this is a great deal with a price lower than Costco even if one needs to get the $35 base plate as well.

One thing to note is that this faucet claims a 1.75GPM flow rate, while the Kohler at Costco claims a 1.5GPM flow rate.

Bought it. Never heard of this brand, but from my research Reddit plumbers swear by it, and I'm down to try matte black on my white / gray granite. If it doesn't work out, looks like eBay is buying these pre-owned at $250 a pop.

What makes this worth so much more than the Kohler etc? It's a dumb question maybe but I'm curious

They are comparable. The Kohler at Costco retails for more than this faucet if they are not on sale. So just buy what is suitable for the application and is available for the best price.

Thank you for that link. TIL that Grohe is a different brand than Hansgrohe. Seems like Hansgrohe and Delta have the same owner!

Almost purchased before realizing how TALL this thing is.

Beware of cabinet cupboard doors that might need to swing out in the faucet path.
