This could be the silliest comment I've ever seen on SlickDeals. This is possibly even worse than the usual, "disks are dumb, haven't you heard of streaming," comments.

Oppenheimer? Barbie? The Batman? Dune Part 1?

If you have a legit 7.2.6 home theater like some of us do, there are a number of movies on this list that are worth owning for the HT experience alone. Not to mention the fact that plenty of these are just good movies.

Enjoy your 10 Mbps stream, and let the rest of us enjoy quality in peace.

I just scrolled through the list on Amazon. The OP only gave a taste. This is actually a pretty impressive selection of movies this time, everything from enduring classics to critically-acclaimed newer movies to popular crowd pleasers. Even most picky of movie snobs should find a few favorites in there.

Not everything may be to everyone's taste, but there are certainly options for most people's tastes. It's a pretty wide variety.

I can't watch foreign movies with dubbed audio, so I always read the text in foreign films.

Never understood people who have such an issue with it.

I think they just haven't tried it, or tried it for only 10 seconds and determined it sucks without giving it enough time for their brains to adjust.

That was my point, you're paying for half an upgrade.
Especially since "Atmos" is the next significant upgrade over BR when done properly.

For me this is a good example why I don't bother with CN.

Even though the PQ is reference(many aren't), the BR has a very good transfer also.
My 820 does a great job upscaling the PQ with the same AQ, easily not worth upgrading it imo.

Atmos is an upgrade over "BR" (Bluray?) you can have Atmos on a 1080p disk. The audio container is separate. I've got TrueHD on 1080p stuff all over.

Not sure what you mean by BD or UHD disk NOT being reference. That's the highest quality master you're going to get unless Criterion does a re-master/re-release.

What is "CN"?

The advantage of "UHD" is HDR+WCG and 1080p with upscaling will never be able to replicate that. Resolution is the least important part of the UHD spec

Just have to keep refreshing the page. It has been updating pretty quickly. The items in your cart may not qualify if they are not in the updated list from Amazon as a seller.

Finally popped back up in the refresh. Already had two loaded into the cart and added Wild Robot as soon as it showed up and was able to checkout. It won't deliver for almost a month though, but I have it.

You'd think rich videophiles would all have full million+ dollar Atmos theaters with dozens of speakers and not a cheapo 5.2.2 setup in a darkened living room like I do.
