the description says "CertiPUR-US certified foam"
and upon further searching, that entails:
-Made without formaldehyde
-Made without ozone depleters
-Made without phthalates regulated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
-Made without mercury, lead and other heavy metals
-Low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)
-Screened for relevant chemicals, including flame retardants, that are classified as carcinogens, mutagens or reproductive toxins and are harmful to human health

The last point makes me think there is no fiberglass.

Regarding this deal, I feel you could buy this for $50, a frame for about $50, and have a guest bed where someone could stay for the night and not have to go to a hotel. This doesn't seem to be the right size though for everyday usage but for a day or two? Sure.

I bet on Amazon there's probably a 2 inch topper for cheap that could make this even more worthwhile.

it's fiberglass insulation for fire proofing... can we safely cut this mattress without having tiny fiberglass in our lungs?

No idea, I just read Zinus newer models aren't using fiberglass anymore. That said, a clearance model may or may not fall into that bucket.

I bought one to cut into 3 pieces to fit the back of a minivan for camping. It will be a much better sleep than an air mattress.

That's a good idea. I slept in my van during a summer trip, and used a tri-fold memory foam mattress. I paid more for it though, but having it fold (or stack in your case) is fantastic for space management.
This still might be worth it for future projects, as cutting would allow very specific length and going around wheel wells or other requirements...

I ordered this and it's already shipped but I plan to return after reading about fiberglass use in their mattresses, which leads to considerable health concerns. Apparently it's best to find options that specifically exclude fiberglass in their production. I wish that weren't the case because otherwise this is a great deal.

8 inch for $99, 12 inch for $128.
picked up a 12 inch instead of stacking two 6 inches on top of eachother.
I don't have the 12 inches but do have the 8... congrats to the those with 12 inch...

Zinus phased out fiberglass in early 2024.
I would not hesitate to order if that was a concern. Returns are simple.

Yeah "Recycle fee". I checked Costco and they don't charge any fees when purchasing mattress/toppers.

Fiberglass isn't officially classified as a carcinogen

That final "and" is carrying a ton of weight. "are harmful to human health" is sadly subjective.
