Anyone tried these? Usually sardines in water are mostly tasteless and at $17.10 that sounds expensive. I usually by 12 for $9 or so

That's what hot sauce is for. I don't trust "olive oil" to be Olive oil. You know the scam.

Having tried both, I would much rather have the olive oil lightly smoked variety. That is better than anything else, and worth the much higher price.

I bought this brand of sardines before and they're very delicious. Perfect texture and flavor, no fishy taste and seasoned just right.

It's a good brand. I like their wild salmon. I found the sardines to be on the large side and less enjoyable. I switched to Seasons brand in olive oil. Buy the six pack in Costco for about $ 10. Same ounces. I find the Seasons much more enjoyable.

Not of fan of this brand "in water". They may taste better in oil, but I prefer Atlantic sardines over these. Just my opinion, but I've tried a lot of sardines as of late, and these "did" have a comparatively strong flavor and very fishy aroma compared to Atlantic pilchards or Baltic Sea sprats/brisling sardines. If you like that, great, but to say they don't have a "fishy taste"? Sorry, they definitely do. It could just be that they are in water, but I won't buy them again.

These are good. Bright blue and a nice clean flavor. I had them in olive oil though.

Agreed. I've tried wild planet and found seasons 6 pack from costco far better

Yes as a reference, a deal had 12 cans of the same brand sardine in olive oil for $5 from amazon, that was in the middle of Covid.

Seasons are better, but their prices are insane vs a few years ago. Thanks, inflation.

Wild Planet also ethically sources all their fish, so definitely recommend buying the brand in general.

Supposedly this brand has low heavy metals. With that said I've tried many brands in water. I prefer this one. It's really all preference when it comes to fish.

I've eaten this brand before. The sardines are good, but get the ones in oil. The water ones just taste 'dry' if you know what I mean.

I was used to about a $1 a can then but I haven't seen that price for years.
