Minimum effort product. I love 8bitdo controllers but this one has no ios compatibility, no switch support, no rumble or gyro, no headphone jack, doesn't work with small tablets like ipad mini (and is super difficult to take apart and has a ribbon cable so it can't be easily modded to accept bigger tablets anyway). I think they also used an inferior d-pad to the one found on their controllers that everybody loves. Reviewers say that it's not a good d-pad for Fighters and diagonals can be tricky.
I guess if you have just an android and don't care about any of those other features, this might be an option. Otherwise, just go with G8/G8+
Read through a few reviews on Amazon and seems like several users are having random crashing, BT connectivity, and/or input lag issues, even on newer Samsung Galaxy devices (S21-23). Think I'll stick with my Razer Kishi v2 until I see a sale on Gamesir G8 or G8+. It's comfortable enough for most shorter mobile gaming sessions but don't think I could marathon without something that comes close to a PS5 or Xbox One controller for size and feel. Would love to get me some Hall Effect sticks & triggers though.

Another option to the gamesir g8 might be the easysmx m15. I am waiting for mine to arrive to replace my razer kishi. It has hall effect sticks and what appealed to me is that it is usb-c direct or bluetooth. iphones are supported via bluetooth, but i plan to use the bt function to pair with my legion go as player 2 when im not streaming via moonlight or game pass.

Apparently, not all bluetooth controllers are recognized by iOS as game controllers. I know because I have one that only works on my Android phone and not iPhone. Baffled me and just another reason I hate iOS.
After owning the Razer Kishi and now it's collecting dust. I learned with those type of devices I always look for 4 things...
- App support that is compatible with most games and emulators.
- Do the buttons make that Clickity noise (I want them to be quite like Sony/Xbox controllers)
- Must have a direct USB C connection (due to Bluetooth latency issues)
- Compact and easy to put in pocket! (otherwise what's the point if you can't carry it with you)
So far the closest one that matches all those points is still sold as a kickstarter for $120 (Mcon by Ohsnap[kickstarter.com]), luckily I'm not in a rush and I will keep waiting till it goes on sale on BF or a for similar product.

i dont care about any of those.. so i guess i will buy this over the much more expensive g8
To each their own. Part of the reason I posted that is because I would love to see 8bitdo release a V2 of this controller that addresses at least SOME of its shortcomings. The main problem is that this was released too little, too late, and with so fewer features than the competition. And yes, MSRP of the G8 and G8 plus is expensive but if you wait for a sale (or if you're willing to go the Aliexpress/Temu route) you can get them for $60-$65), which is only marginally more expensive than this but is so much more bang for your buck, especially if you want to use it on multiple devices (which, it being bluetooth only, can be handy).
are we looking at the same device? x2 pro doesn't seem to come in bluetooth, and is $70.. which is $10 shy of double the price of this
It goes on sale regularly, ali for $43 one commenter just mentioned. You can't beat the quality of the buttons and accuracy of the joysticks, it's the closest thing you'll get to an authentic Playstation or Xbox controller quality wise. Bluetooth introduces latency and it's noticeable with the Bluetooth controllers I've used not to mention you have to charge them.

I've tried so many of these, the Galileo G8 being the best until recently. Now the Abxylute S9 is checking all the boxes, feels solid, works on small tablets, Its new but I haven't heard of any issues. But, its pretty new. It's not on sale, its not a slickdeal at the moment, its the best so far though. Its the best features of several good controllers.
/edit forgot to add why its my favorite at the moment, it has xinput as one of its modes. It shows up as a xbox controller, that makes it quite a bit more convenient that the G8 when configuring games and overall compatibly

Currently, there's a $5 off promotion. That's a far cry from the kickstarter prices, but again, its been worth it
