You may have never activated it. This is the most common Metro unlock failure reason. Did you make calls and send texts from the device after receiving it?

Evidence of this? I think the 1 year "paper" policy started May last year so if it was widespread that the 1 year was fake, it'd be well known now since the May and June 2024 activated devices should have unlocked by now if it was still 6 months.
I did use Metro service for text and calls for the first month of service. And then stopped paying

Looks like it's for new accounts only, you can't use this offer to add a line, according to Metro Customer Service. If anyone has had success adding a line w/ this offer, please share!

I'm also attempting to port my StraightTalk number (that I got last month with the iPhone SE3 deal), & I get an "incorrect port info" error message (it asks for account#, which I assume is the phone number (I can't find any other account# in my ST account), number transfer PIN, and zip code). I attempted so many times I got locked out and got a "go to a store" message.

I've used 21 days of my StraightTalk plan so far, if that's useful info.

Ahh. Ok, ty. Unfortunately I'm already a visible user, so I cant join and use a referral code for a new #.
You can just refer yourself and use a different email, you can even use the same device for both visible #s, I had 2 visible esim #s, 1 Metro esim and 1 physical Cricket sim at the same time last month on my Galaxy S23 Ultra

My Moto phone from Metro bought more than a year ago. Still not able to unlock. "Device must be used on this phone number for 180 days" message when try to unlock
Try couple of times while on Wi-Fi. Try again the next day. I have tried this when first try did not work and it worked on later tries.

$280 trade in credit at Google store towards pixel 9 or 9 pro. I didn't try any other pixel values.

also best buy phone trade in gives $200 bestbuy e gift card.

haven't tried yet but cricket will give you (1 week, I think) trial service to try them out with (esim).
this may be a way to get a free # to transfer.
You can't port out trial #s

I wonder if they change their unlock policy to prevent the old unlock method. We need more feedback from people who bought in the deal after the policy change.
