I purchased 2 when they were $99, and although locked for 1 year they've been working flawlessly for several months now on Tello using MKSD Ultra V5.6

For those having trouble porting in from TracFone, Straight Talk, or Total Wireless, here are the steps you need to take at the porting part. This is based on my experience. I have successfully completed port-ins from these sites after working out this guide. The guide below is taken from Total Wireless port into Metro. It should be the same for Straight Talk and other TracFone subsidiaries including TracFone.

Port Info Needed:
Most can be found here
https://www.totalwireless.com .. my-account.. manage-lines
Line: Phone number
Account: Phone IMEI (Text Four to 611611 to confirm)
Zip code: Your zip code
PIN: Text NTP to 611611 to generate your PIN.

----------------------
At the Porting part.
1. Enter the port info.
2. Metro contacts Total Wireless. (See picture 1)
3. Metro throws an error even if you entered everything correctly. (See picture 2)
4. The error is because Total Wireless is contacting the line owner to warn them about the port. (See picture 3)
5. Click on Correct errors.
6. Re-enter everything again and make sure everything is correct.
7. Metro throws another error. The same one as seen in Picture 2.
8. This is a bug on Metro site.
9. Click on the X at the top right to close that error message.
10. Metro proceeds to completing the order.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you clicked on submitting the order to Metro, your Total/ST/Tracfone line is immediately inactivated on their respective site, not allowing you to port that line any further even if Metro denied your order asking you to contact them or go to their store for completing the order. In order words, you cannot reverse the porting at Total/ST/Tracfone. I spent 2 hours with Total and it was going nowhere.

Apple iPhone 13 128GB Midnight on Metro by T-Mobile website.
Online deal only.
Price has been reduced to $50.
Phone takes one year to get unlocked after initial activation date.

Requires Metro Flex Plus plan at $75 for first month of service.
MUST port-in from AT&T or Verizon based number.
T-Mobile based numbers and VOIP numbers do not qualify for lowest price.

I was hoping to get some advice or confirmation about this deal. I currently have an AT&T phone and was planning to move over to T-Mobile eventually. The most important thing to me is to keep my current number. So would it work if I just got this deal "in between" the switch? So basically I would:
  1. Get this deal with the iPhone 13 by porting my AT&T number to Metro Flex
  2. Use the Metro Flex service for just one month
  3. After the one month, cancel the Metro service by porting the number to T-Mobile (which is where I want to end up with the original phone number)
So basically, I would just take advantage of my AT&T number to come up with a iPhone 13 that I can use after 12 months unlocking period.
Would this work? (Keeping in mind that I don't want to lose my original number.)

Thanks in advance!
Don't do it if you plan to sign up for T-Mobile postpaid soon. You'll get better deals if your number originates from a carrier unrelated to T-Mobile. Check out their website and hop to the T-Mobile sub on Reddit for more information.

If you have another existing Metro account, can you switch the sim card of this new one to your existing account once it defaults after a month? Thank you

I don't get your question, what you plan to do? Use your old existing metro number on this new iPhone 13?

You unlocked it with the chip right away?

It doesn't unlock the phone, just overrides the sim lock so can use with TMobile MVNOs

Does anyone know if Best Buy accepts these as trade ins even though they are locked? I know Apple does but not sure about Best Buy

That phone plus 70$ a month per line seems like a huge rip off. Considering your stuck on metro for a year.

Thank you for this. Ended up going with 13 because of the sim tray.

Is there any security risk of using MKSD?

Can't use MKSD with IPhone 14 since its esim only. I've been using 5.6 with IPhone 13 for few months now with Tello and works flawlessly
Which other providers MVNO can we use with MKSD? Can Ultra mobile be used or Helium or any other MVNO?
