I've had a set of POP containers for a few years now, including the cookie jar. I really like them for cooking ingredients.

They've been dropped a few times over the years with only one breakage, so I'd give them pretty good durability.

Only issue I've had with the seal is when I used it with really fine powder. Powdered sugar was an issue, but flour and regular sugar were ok.

Who says this is for pets only? What can't I put my human treats for easy counter access?

Yeah, seems to be just marketing. Incidentally, if you check for 3.3 qt sizes, the Pet Pop is $15.19, while the normal (human) round Pop container is currently discounted as $13.99

How long do these 'pop tops' ACTUALLY last (vs. 'airtight')

Short answer: Years and years. I've have one filled with flour (not the same flour, of course 😝) on my countertop for over five years. The pop top functions as it did when new. I'm in for a few more. The size is perfect. Not too big that it overwhelms the countertop and not so small that it requires constant filling.

Amazon and Macy's links are leading to different products.

The Macy's is a cookie jar,
Amazon is a pet treats container.

manufacturer links:
https://www.oxo.com/pop-medium-ja...2-8-l.html
https://www.oxo.com/oxo-good-grip...2-8-l.html

Both say BPA free, so maybe something else or just a creative marketing.

"Not currently available" at Macy'e and Rufus on Amazon shows that it's made of #7 plastic and is not safe for humans. So why would it be good for dogs?

My OXO cereal pop top doesn't seem to work that well. Goes stale around the same as a tightly wrapped cereal bag with a clip

The pop containers are sadly not 100% air tight, they're close though. They're pretty good for dry ingredients that don't go stale like sugar, flour, pasta, but I always put a piece of plastic wrap under the top to give a better seal for anything that can go stale like cereal. But honestly for things that can go stale I haven't found anything that beats a ziploc freezer bag.
